How does your defensive front seven stack up, size-wise? Kentucky's is going to be enormous this season:

Jack - Jabari Johnson - 6'1 272
DE - Farrington Huguenin - 6'4 282
NT - Melvin Lewis - 6'4 332
DT - Regie Meant - 6'4 304
Sam - Denzil Ware - 6'2 255 (Jason Hatcher suspended)

MLB - Josh Forrest 6'3 255
WLB - Ryan Flannagan 6'2 225

Average size - 6'2.8 275

Against spread teams, UK will generally pull the Jack and play Blake McClain (5'11 195) at NB.

How big is your team's front 7? This is probably the biggest I can ever remember at UK.

Elam still isn't starting? What did I miss?

Melvin Lewis being a legit NFL NT, I think. Elam still has some work to do on his weight and conditioning, but he's also playing behind the best DL on the team at the moment. Lewis is going to be a monster in the middle this year and be drafted, barring injury.

Mizzou:

DE Marcel Frazier - 6'5 265
DT Josh Augusta - 6'4 345 (Coaches want him down to 335 by our first game)
DT Ricky Hatley 6'4 305 (305 as of an interview a week or two ago. He'll probably be down to to the 290-300 range by our first game)
DE Charles Harris 6'3 255

LB Donavin Newsom 6'2 235
LB Michael Scherer 6'3 235
LB Kentrell Brothers 6'1 235

Damn. I thought he spurned Bama because of being able to get on the field a lot faster and being closer to home

Well, at the time of the decision, Lewis was redshirting and was still a very raw prospect, so there was probably some good reasoning in that line of thinking.

Of course, Elam still played quite a bit in a backup role as a FR and will play even more this year, but 1) he still needs conditioning/technique and 2) Lewis is a beast.

The impressive part is that's not even a rangy front seven. That linebacking corp is short.

It's either impressive or a bunch of butter balls.

They should have faked a few injuries last season to explain how bad they were at times.
