Is this game bigger for Mason or Muschamp?

The latest line I have seen is Vandy -4. Mason's at that point where he needs to start winning these games. South Carolina, sadly, isn't projected to be any good this year.

On the other hand, if Muschamp starts out his career at SC with a big dud against Vanderbilt, it'll really set the looming tone of the season ahead.

Mason, definitely. Losing this game at home would be deflating.

It would be bad for Muschamp, but it's year 1 and game 1 on the road vs a team most think will be decent this season.

Obviously Mason. A first year coach at a school will get a pass, especially coming in after a 3 win season.

Even if we win, this board will say it was because it was Vanderbilt.

There will still be a billion threads about how Muschamp sucks, so we just have to let it happen.

I mean, it would still be just Vanderbilt. Would be a good start, though.

Mason's under pressure to win now. Vandy isn't favored often, he'd better win it. Muschamp is ok as long as the Cocks don't look like shite and don't get blown out.
