Pump the brakes on Zaire, not a good fit for the offense, doesn't know the system, not proven to be consistent, coming off injury and being beaten out at QB at ND. IMO, he may provide some depth but will not see any significant playing time unless season goes to shite.

Third string is Kyle Trask, who had knee surgery this offseason

I was unaware of this. Damn.

I think LDR's time has passed. All the surgeries...there is NO way he will be healthy this season. And his arm strength just isn't there.

Zaire may also help on 3rd and short situations with his dual threat. But yes, hopefully FF pans out as our #1 guy with Zaire as our go-to backup.

I think Mac is going to change up the offense to more of a read option offense. Those offenses have been successful against Bama. That is why Zaire was brought in, and why UF is only going after dual threat QBs for 2018.

Zaire not coming to UF to sit on the bench. If thats the case, he probably would of stayed at ND and provided depth at QB there. There were a few teams that wanted him to come in and probably start at QB.

Mcelwain is just throwing shite at the wall to see what sticks at this point. He needs a spark at qb in the worst way. Without Zaire it was franks or bust. He at least has options now.

This is like saying big news! Jeremy Johnson transfers to Alabama!

The difference being that Jeremy Johnson would probably win a national championship at Alabama.

Wow, do you think there would be enough time for him to get a handle on the offense?

You would think he wants a shot at starting, but that would seem pretty tough.

They guy hasn't thrown 100 passes in his entire college career and you guys act like he's the heir apparent to the Florida Heisman QB legacy. This will do nothing but piss off Felipe.

Yep don't piss off Flippe Franks because that flat chested QB will just quit and transfer out

So he is a better QB than Hurts?

Oh, and if this isn't a funny coincidence...

During his first college start, Zaire was named the MVP of the Music City Bowl in 2014 in a win over LSU.

How is this a coincidence?

Well it sounds just like our fans over in the Tiger Rant when talking about Myles Brennan. It is what it is...

We all pretty much agree that Brennan needs to redhirt, put on some weight and learn the system for a year. Zaire has 3 college seasons under his belt and hasn't been able to establish himself as a starter. Big difference.
