I created a simple power rating system, using SEC championships for each team in the past 40 years.
An outright SEC regular season championship = 1 point
A shared SEC regular season championship = 0.5 point
A SEC tournament championship = 0.5 point
Add all together to get the big 3 sports power rating.
Alabama:
Football- 9 outright + 2 shared = 10 points
Basketball- 2 outright + 5 tourney = 4.5 points
Baseball- 1 outright+ 2 shared + 6 tourney = 5 points
Total- 10 + 4.5 + 5 = 19.5 POINTS
Arkansas:
Football- 0 championships = 0 points
Basketball- 2 outright + 1 tourney = 2.5 points
Baseball- 1 outright + 1 shared + 0 tourney = 1.5 points
Total- 0 + 2 + 2 = 4 POINTS
Auburn:
Football- 5 outright + 2 shared = 6 points
Basketball- 1 outright + 1 tourney = 1.5 points
Baseball- 1 outright + 3 tourney = 2.5 points
Total- 6 + 2 + 2 = 10 POINTS
Florida:
Football- 8 outright + 0 shared = 8 points
Basketball- 5 outright + 2 shared + 4 tourney = 8 points
Baseball- 8 outright + 2 shared + 7 tourney = 12.5 points
Total- 8 + 8 + 12.5 = 28.5 POINTS
Georgia:
Football- 4 outright + 1 shared = 4.5 points
Basketball- 1 outright + 2 tourney = 2 points
Baseball- 3 outright + 1 shared + 0 tourney = 3.5 points
Total- 4.5 + 2 + 3.5 = 10 POINTS
Kentucky:
Football- 0 championships = 0 points
Basketball- 13 outright + 5 shared + 15 tourney = 23 pts
Baseball- 1 outright + 0 tourney = 1 point
Total- 0 + 23 + 1 = 24 POINTS
LSU:
Football- 5 outright + 1 shared = 5.5 points
Basketball- 5 outright + 2 shared + 1 tourney = 6.5 point
Baseball- 9 outright + 2 shared + 8 tourney = 14 points
Total- 5.5 + 6.5 + 14 = 26 POINTS
Mississippi State:
Football- 0 championships = 0 points
Basketball- 1 outright + 1 shared + 3 tourney = 3 points
Baseball- 4 outright + 7 tourney = 7.5 points
Total- 0 + 3 + 7.5 = 10.5 POINTS
Ole Miss:
Football- 0 championships = 0 points
Basketball- 0 outright + 2 tourney = 1 point
Baseball- 1 outright + 1 shared + 2 tourney = 2.5 points
Total- 0 + 1 + 2.5 = 3.5 POINTS
South Carolina:
Football- 0 championships = 0 points
Basketball- 1 outright + 0 tourney = 1 point
Baseball- 2 outright + 1 shared + 1 tourney = 3 points
Total- 0 + 1 + 3 = 4 POINTS
Tennessee:
Football- 4 outright + 1 shared = 4.5 points
Basketball- 1 outright + 3 shared + 1 tourney = 3 points
Baseball- 2 outright + 0 tourney = 2 points
Total- 4.5 + 3 + 2 = 9.5 POINTS
Vanderbilt:
Football- 0 championships = 0 points
Basketball- 1 outright + 1 tourney = 1.5 points
Baseball- 3 outright + 1 shared + 2 tourney = 4.5 points
Total- 0 + 1.5 + 4.5 = 6 POINTS

I love how Miss State baseball points are more than LSU and Auburn football points.

That would be a different story and a different ranking. I used SEC championships because it is the best way to gauge how good you have been in the conference, not the nation.

It should be weighted.
Outright football title = 3 points
Shared = 1.5 points
Division title = .5 points
Outright basketball title = 2 points
Shared & Tourney = 1 point
Outright baseball title = 1 point
Shared & Tourney = .5 points
ETA: Should include division titles in football since the split too.

Obviously, this is the Big 3 sports power ranting, not the football power ranting. I stated the criteria and followed with the facts.

There's 14 teams in the SEC numbnuts

I like how LSU baseball points are more than some schools totals

You're right.
OP....go ahead a list A&M and Mizzous point total since joining the SEC

If I'm understanding his system correctly, there are roughly 50% more points available for basketball and baseball than there are football:
Football - 1 point for champs
Basketball and baseball - 1 point for season champs, 0.5 point for tournament champs
Probably should change football to 1.5 points for champs (0.75 for shared?) to keep the sports weighted evenly. Shouldn't have the SEC's number 1 sport weighted the least.

Why does football count less that baseball and basketball? You can get 1.5 points for winning the regular season and tourney? That doesn't seem right.
Posted on 7/19/16 at 12:38 pm to DistrictDawg
Mississippi State people are gross

Make up you're mind. Do you want the last 40 years or do you want the SEC? This isn't for the shitty SWC conference that no longer exists

No problem.
13. Texas A&M-
1 shared basketball championship + 1 Baseball tourney championship = 1 POINT total
14. Mizzou-
Total- 0 POINTS
There ya go Aggie. I kept you out so you wouldn't be on the bottom, but hey, I forgot that's how you A&M boys roll.
