If a head coach was at yours and another SEC school, did you get the fuzzy end of the lollipop?

We've had 3 shared with Bama, and got the lower performance in all 3 cases:

- Bryant
- Stallings
- Fran

Also had one each with Kentucky in football and basketball, and had better results in both cases

- Bryant (football)
- Billy Clyde Gillispie (basketball)

Had one with Cowbell, and I think we had the better run.

- Sherrill

That's all I have off the top of my head.

Well, tech-Nick-ally I suppose we have one to speak of. But that is probably what you are really going for here.

We claim our only football natty under Bryant. I'd say we had better results than Aggie had with him.

Also, Tubby Smith coached at both UGA and UK. With our 1998 natty under Smith's leadership, I'd say we got better results with him, too.

What? We claimed pre AP titles in 2012. That is a thing in the SEC you know.

We only claim one in the AP era, and it was an AP national title.

I was just wondering. I did a little digging and Im not sure why the claim for Kentucky. Mizzou has much stronger claims thant that if we wanted to but the AD isnt in to that stuff.

They were shared titles as recognized by the Big 12. It's not our fault that conference has a constantly changing system for picking one true champion. Nothing wrong with setting the record straight.

Kentucky can only call 1950 a national title based on a modern interpretation of the term applied retroactively (i.e. Beating the real number 1 team in a bowl). By every standard of the day there is no way someone can say they won a national title that season.

On the other hand the 1950 SEC title was a big deal, as it was only one of two the program has ever gotten.

No, they were NOT shared conference titles. Y'all lost to Nebraska in the 97 Big 12 title game and didn't even play in the final Big 12 title game in 2010.
