Those programs left in the Big 12 that had no options or no room to negotiate really should be thanking the teams that left because they have brought about significant change in the way the power brokers in the Big 12 operate

There's some truth in this, but I still think there's a BIG difference between changing the way you operate because there is a gun to your head (UT and OU) versus operating a certain way all along because you simply know that's the good and right way of conducting yourself as a league (the SEC). Just because UT and to some extent OU had their junk kicked in momentarily doesn't mean they changed who they are or they way they are gonna act in the future. Lord knows Delo$$ Dodd$ won't. And that's why the Big 12 will never be the league it had the potential to be. It's flagship doesn't know how to play with the other kids in the sandbox and only threats or people leaving the sandbox altogether are enough to get UT to see the light. That's not a recipe for long term success, no way, no how.

Good question.. Imma guessing Jerryworld or St. Louis, or maybe rotate between the two...

Where does the Sugar Bowl fit in this equation?? Surely Slive isn't marginalizing it or going away from the SEC's affiliation with the Sugar Bowl...

IMO, that would be a terrible move...

Well if UT doesn't make the 4 team playoff there's gonna be the real possibility of them getting kicked in the nuts by a SEC team on a fairly regular basis.... Maybe they'll change their tune...

I would love nothing more than for STL or the state of Missouri generally to finally get a bowl game of any kind, let alone a good one at that, but there is zero chance of it ever happening. For one thing, aside from the Cardinals, the City of St.Louis can always easily be counted on to get in its own way and trip and fall. And two, the domed NFL stadium in the Lou is a gigantic POS that even I as a total Missouri homer would have a hard time recommending for a major bowl game. And three, no way Jerry is gonna let some small timer city like STL have a piece of his pie. Not happening.

That's what I was wondering, it sure sounds like it is going to take a big blow.

I reside in ground zero in Austin. I live and work among them and am more intimately familiar than I care to be with how they think, perceive, and act. And from Delo$$ on down, no matter what SEC spankings or other things come there way, I think razorbacked-piggies will fly before these people ever so much as entertain the notion of changing their tune. When ego-wise, a school motto of "What starts here changes the world" is your starting point, well...

This game needs to be in St. Louis.

Can y'all not see that the old bowl system is a group of scotch-drinking blazer wearers with slow metabolism and a desire for $$$ that rightfully belong to the participating schools?

This new bowl is a chance for the SEC and Big12 to OWN their own bowl, run their own bowl, and keep more $$$ for members.

Play it at the Superdome if you must, that's fine and dandy. But FORGET the Sugar Bowl Committee and every other old bowl committee. Time to take back some College Football Property and Dollars ...

It does, but the Lou would have to step up and build a new stadium (which it needs anyway to have any prayer of keeping the Rams around long term). And no matter what we build, it won't be Jerryworld and that's gonna be our competition...

Techinically, the SEC/Big 12 ground zero is in Old Dime Box between Austin and College Station.

No it doesn't. And it won't be. It'll be at Jerry World. Or it will rotate between Dallas and Atlanta or something like that.

No one wants to go somewhere cold for a bowl game.
