Hey now. There's smarties everywhere and dummies even at Vandy. I think randomways is just plain smart (something too rare around here) and a real boon to the board.

IOW, he'd be intelligent regardless of where he attended or his fandom.

Prof, I was doing the dumb country boy routine for the Texas guest so they could feel better about themselves. Bless his little cotton picking heart. To be a gay Texas fan with a small penis must be a real downer.

As long as you have known me did you not pick up on that.

The SEC number at 31.2 per includes the network (correct?).

The Big 12 number at 25.6 per DOES NOT include tier-3 television money, which each school keeps for itself.

Look at you trying to drop knowledge. How cute.

What you forget to mention about those numbers is:

1. WVU and TCU take a reduced payout (84%) So next year it might be LESS not more for each Big 12 team.

2. This is year one of the SEC Network so next year we will be making more. Much more.

Also you avoid the fact that the SEC Network has a future value that is unknown, while the LHN is a dead end.

several Big 12 schools have their own networks,

And what does their distribution look like? Or their future revenue potential?

This is your last year to brag the Big 12 (meaning Texas and Kansas) is in the same ballpark as the SEC on money so I hope you enjoy it!

Why are you on an SEC site spewing nonsense?

Did you lose your place in line with the rest of the Shaggybevo village idiots?

Sorry Cheese. You're right I should've picked that up.

In my defense, sometimes I can be too serious about giving unis credit and it's a pet peeve of mine that SEC schools in particular and public schools in general are often underrated since I've taught kids from Harvard, Vandy, and public schools as well. Public unis in the South, especially but really most public unis across the country are treated like idjit schools. It's only a few public unis in general that might as well be private e.g. UVA or UofM, that get credit and have a good academic rep across the nation.

Ironically, Texas' rep is regional despite what they'd like to claim.

Amen I have long said Random is the best poster.

The horn is right about one thing though- Tiers. For everyone:

Tier 1- Big games, CBS games for the SEC

Tier 2- Middle games, like not major in conference games. This is the largest tier.

Tier 3- Left over games, normally 1-3 OOC games a year unless you are Texas and you have ESPN pulling strings for you.

Tier 4- Radio and merchandising rights

The Big 12 shares evenly Tiers one (owned by ESPN) and two (owned by Fox). Tier 3 are the team networks, which means crap inventory. That tier and tier 4 are not shared evenly.

The SEC Tier 1 is undervalued on CBS for exposure (so we could make more money than even Texas today if we gave up that CBS spot). Tier 2 and 3 are mixed between the ESPN channels and the SEC Network. That is the SEC Network secret, it has Tier 2 games on there to force distribution. Tier 4 in the SEC (and every major conference) is team specific.

EKG, it has everything to do with an article by butthurt Paul Burka in Texas Monthly quoting an "anonymous female cadet" (who quit before the article was written) that claimed that PMC would jerk off horses into mason jars. (while PMC does some pretty bizarre things, that's extreme, even for them)

Yeah sorry I was commuting or I would have shut that shite down pages ago. He gets cocky because a lot of SEC folks don't know realignment terminology. What he doesn't realize is what makes the SEC so great is most of y'all never need to.

Bragging about team networks is like bragging the cobra that is about to bite your nuts has the sharpest teeth of any snake. The Tier 3 model the Big 12 has undertaken is a dead end and even the Big 12 commissioner admits that. WVU would trade that Tier 3 deal for a Big 12 Network is a heartbeat.

So what he bragged about today is what makes his life harder tomorrow. The man has real vision I tell you. Like my sig quote when he didn't see that the only Power 5 league without a title game would be at a disadvantage.

Don't sweat it and very true. Glad you shut it down seeing as how I was wayyyyyy too lazy to pull up exact numbers or bother researching links. However, it is definitely appreciated.

ergo, the problem with that conference. the SEC bottom dweller makes the same as the top team. it has served the SEC well over the years and is paying off consistently. TU and OKLA will make it anywhere but not the rest of them.

Bold words coming from the only power 5 conference that doesn't have enough teams to have a conference championship. And the only power 5 conference to get left out of the playoffs.

The sad thing is that they keep catering to Texas and they aren't even relevant any more. They aren't even the best school in their own state. TCU, Baylor, aTm have all passed them by.
