We've come through the meat of our schedule and we are unbeaten. Kirby was great, but other than 2009, we just couldn't get over the hump to an undefeated season. Pruitt's defense seems to play with more aggression.... No take-backs Georgia

I could call plays with Bama's front 7.

I loved Pruitt's coaching it's just a shame he's such a dick head.

I don't know if we would have held LSU scoreless with Kirby making the calls... I'm not saying he isn't talented, but I just believe Pruitt to be the better of the two

Im starting to think that they may just be following what Saban is telling them to do. Maybe I could be the defensive coordinator at Alabama if he told me what to do every day.

Defense sucks. If I wanted to watch defense I'd watch a 1-0 soccer game or 0-0 NHL double OT tie

We need to compare the two without Nick Saban. Jeremy Pruitt at Georgia and Florida State, Kirby Smart at Georgia. That being said, the sample size isn't big enough just yet.

That may be the case, but Pruitt has a track record outside of Bama... his Florida State Defense was top notch

There's much more to the story of it though than the surface.

To get to the meat and bones of it, if Steve Spurrier doesn't quit at South Carolina last year and start the chain reaction that we saw, Mark Richt is given an ultimatum of fire Jeremy Pruitt because he was a "meanie" to the boosters or everyone goes for Georgia and Pruitt is still somewhere else.

I don't know which is better, but I like Pruitt's play calling and aggression better

Insinuating Aranda wouldn't win a NC under Saban.

Any and all DCs will look great under Saban, and with the talent available at his disposal.

Kirby doesn't have nearly enough evidence to judge him w/o Saban. Early evidence suggests that he wasn't as vital to Alabama's success as he's been portrayed.

Pruitt had one great year at FSU with a defense littered with NFL players against a very weak schedule. His defenses at Georgia were good, not great. He obviously has a great defense this season.

Aranda has a great defense now at LSU, littered with NFL talent. He had a top 10 defense in his first season at Wisconsin while transitioning from a 4-3 to a 3-4. He had a top 10 defense in 2014, and a top 5 defense in 2015.

There is not enough evidence available to crown one of them as the best DC.
