Murray by a mile or maybe 10. Manziel was a 3 Star that many thought would not translate as a QB in college. That's why Mack Brown offered him as a Safety. He won but never won big, not really. He was a far more raw prospect from a throwing perspective and would just run in circles until something opened up, great to watch but who knew it would translate?
Murray is a bit undersized but is a highly developed QB with elite athleticism. He has played at the highest level of HS football and never lost while destroying records. His father is a QB coach and former AA himself and he has fantastic makeup and mechanics.
Doesn't mean that Murray will be Manziel at all, but from a prospect perspective it isn't close.

As a HS prospect Murray and it's not close. Although a lot of manziels success came from improvisation and that's hard to measure sometimes.
Manziel also developed a lot as a passer in college, he wasn't very good at all in HS at passing

Murray played in an elite, all powerful, peerless machine system.
Hard to judge. I'd say Manziel would have won as many games as Murray had he played for Allen High.
You'll find out soon enough.

I saw both in person. Went to high school with Manziel.
Manziel was the most underrated HS athlete I have ever seen in my lifetime. No one was giving him a look but if there was a record to break in Tx he broke it. He had a competitive drive like I have never seen. When we got him I knew he was going to be a human highlight reel.
That being said, Murray is a better passer, just as fast, almost as elusive, and never lost a game in one of the toughest divisions in football (in the country), playing a schedule that ESPN and others ranked as the #6 toughest schedule in the country.
Nothing compares to Manziel because he took risks as a player and because he was so dynamic it paid off.
Murray isn't like Manziel. His talent is refined and he does not hardly take uncalculated risks. He is going to destroy this conference in a year or two.

Considering Murray is one of the greatest high school football players in the history of Texas I'll go with him.

It's not an exact science, comparing the two...
Murray had a great supporting cast at Allen. And he led them to Championships.
Manziel single handedly carried Kerrville on his back. And he led them far into the playoffs.
Murray is a more polished passer at this stage, though...

Johnny Manziel was the same guy in HS as he was in college. He could run, extend plays, pass, and just make things happen. His team and prohram wasn't nearly as good as Murray. He also put up better #s than Murray. No one expected it to work out at the next level.
Murray on the other hand is much more polished yet can do a lot of the same things. He's been surround by plus talent and plus coaching. He obviously is the better prospect based on offers and awards, but both were ridiculous in HS.
