I know it's way too early, but with the way they are playing now, could this be their best team yet? Better than 2002 and 2007? Or do the Herschel years from 1980-1982 trump all?

The East will make them look a lot better than they are. Saying that, the West is shite now also, and I could say the same about Alabama.

I gave up on Georgia a long time ago. Can't even remember the year, but they started the season 0-2 and all their fans were wanting to fire Richt

I said to myself, "self, just watch Georgia win every game here out and end up 10-2."

They did, and they played for the SEC Championship that year. Hell, I think they may have even won the damn thing.

Never seen a more fickle fanbase.

Until LSU.

They have a Freshman QB. That's really the only thing that will stop to them from making the playoffs.

He has played well, but there will come a time Georgia plays a front 7 that will stop the run and apply pressure and he probably won't be able to get it done.

It happened to Bama last year with freshman Hurts, but they had an all-time defense that scored points and forced so many turnovers.

Auburn will be tough for Georgia to beat, but Georgia seems to have their number.

Don' cha wish the Vowels weren't permanently irrelevant and could have a year every now and then.

Funny enough, I think their 2014 team might have been their best team out of the bunch. Georgia played five teams that finished ranked in the top 25 that year and beat four of those teams by more than 20 points. Gurley and Chubb both averaged over 7.0 YPA on the ground and Mason was a pretty good game manager. Richt just got completely outcoached in two games against South Carolina and Florida that year and it cost them dearly.

We don't have a great offense yet.

Until we can score on a legit defense and win meaningful games, we're not "great."

We've had one since the Dawgs have.

You weren't even alive the last time Herschel Walker had a year for the Dawgs.

I think 2012 may have been their best team. The SEC championship game with Alabama came down to the last play. If Georgia had won that game, they also would have beat Notre Dame (easily) in the NCG.

I'm pretty confident you're referring to the 2011 season. Just a refresher... started season out against Boise State at GA Dome for a "neutral site" opener. Score was much closer than the game... we looked outplayed from the jump. That game was a dumb scheduling faux pas IMO... was always a lose lose proposition. No credit for a win, absolutely embarrassing loss to open the season.

Followed up by losing a home matchup against what would turn out to be a pretty damn good South Carolina team (went 11-2, with a close loss to Auburn and a blow out loss to Arky actually - thanks for that... it's why we went to Atlanta). At the time though, I don't think many knew that USC was as good as they were (had gone 9-5 the previous year, but did represent the SEC East in Atlanta... finished the season with 2 losses in the Ga Dome... Auburn in SECCG and then FSU in the CFA Peach Bowl.)

Ultimately, I was not one of those who felt Richt should be gone, and quite honestly, I don't remember there being a vocal majority of UGA fans who felt he was gone, but there was certainly a bit of eroding confidence... 5 years removed from our last SEC championship and starting the season out 0-2 is a good way to do that.

This is complete horseshite. You're either allowing one or two people's comments to color your opinion or you simply have an axe to grind. 15 years of Richt, and even after he left and the heir apparent had been hired, you still had people who supported Richt and felt it was a massive mistake. Personally, it felt like it was time... and it looks to be working out for both UGA and Richt. Wish the firing could have been handled better but didn't expect any better from Ole Ears McG.)

Hell, I've watched Arky posters on this board go from Pittman is the greatest OL coach ever to "he's ok, but Enos seems to really have this team in a better spot", to now Enos seems to be trash... Every fanbase lives in the moment to some degree... If you can't own that, then you're operating with blinders on.

I love how "irrelevant" vs "relevant" shifts based on what point people are trying to make and/or avoid. When is the last time that the Vols were relevant at the end of the regular season? 2007 SECCG appearance? 1998 MNC? I'd say UGA's 2012 season is more recent "relevance" no matter how you slice it. If we aren't counting SECCG appearances, how about actual conference championships in 2002 and 2005, compared to 1998. If you want to focus in on national championships, sure. You've got one since we last did... it's about as relevant as Tennessee is now, much like our 1980 championship. It happened... but it has no real bearing on our program's position today.

All of that doesn't even account for the differential in teams over the past decade... Vols are a dumpster fire right now and for the most part, you guys seem genuinely happy about it. Maybe hold on to the shite posting until you guys actually get rid of Botch and figure out just how disappointing your next hire will be? Just a thought.

No telling on this team yet. Offense yet to have to face a defense that can truly take away our run game. Until that happens, I'm not sure we'll know what we can do on that side of the ball when pressed. Defense is looking incredible. For now, I'll say they are impressing, but show me the same execution against UF, AU, and onward... then we'll talk.

Well, judging by the way they beat the shite out of your team, it sure as hell isn't YOURS.

This is one of the reasons I'm interested to see Eason get some time this week and/or against Mizzou if the score/flow permit... I think ideally either a) Eason shows the progress we expected and the coaches claimed they'd seen and he reclaims the job or b) Fromm proves that he's the guy and steps up to the challenge in a big way.

Holding out too much judgement until we see the UF/AU games... until then, I'm just not sure what to use as my sliding scale. ND looks like a good win right now... MSU/UT look meh from a quality of opponent standpoint... execution on our end looks strong though at least.
