LSU shouldn't be in contention. Replacing three of our most productive tacklers in Hunter, Rasco and Kwon and not knowing what our depth at DL looks like with so many unproven players should knock LSU out of contention for it.

Anytime I see a thread like this, I will just say South Carolina.

South Carolina.

Although, I think South Carolina will have the most surprising front seven. May not be the best, but the turnaround will definitely be noticeable.

I wonder if LSU's unicorn DT (Valentine) plays this year.

On 3rd and long, Georgia. On all other downs, Alabama.

So Alabama is the answer overall.

The only person we'll miss is Kwon. Our front 7 will be n the mix as one of the best n the league this year

We have 4 or.5 five star CB's on roster so we'll be sure solid there. Safety won't be up to Bama standards.

i expect them to be much better with new coaching and the combination of fantastic young talent thats available (brown, harrison, humphrey, jones, maybe sheffield or fitz depending on how they do in camp) and plenty of guys who have played (cyrus jones, sylve, both smiths, washington, eddie jackson at safety). Mel Tucker has always produced a very aggressive, attacking secondary everywhere he has coached, so im excited to see how it progresses

No. We return some damn good DT's and one of the best MLB in the country. That's only 3 out of 7 positions.

Alabama will be one of the best. The best? I don't know yet.

And no one mentioned Ohio State's success running the ball in the Sugar Bowl? I'm disappoint.

But kidding aside, they've got to get better on the perimeter. That's where Ohio State had all of their success. Two long TDs there. The front seven is great at stuffing plays but the LBs have been stiff in defending the outside. Hopefully the young LBs we've recruited to defend spread offenses are ready.

Tony Brown has elite speed. But he was always set to be a project in terms of teaching him technique. It'll be interesting to see how he looks early from a technical standpoint. He can turn and run with anyone in America. Very disappointed y'all paid his Dad's medical bills and stole him from us. Truthfully butthurt on that one because I think Raymond would've had him working in the mix for this year as a starter.

But I'm not sure you've got what you need at corner outside of him, either. At Safety you guys had issues in coverage with Collins as well. That 2nd half versus Ole Miss he got abused with that flat pass option Bro Wallace and Freeze kept picking on y'all with.

He was frozen over and over and over. That's such an important position for Saban's defense. That secondary's gonna be a work in progress early I'd imagine.
