I can agree 2011 LSU and Bama are right there. I know Bama won Crystal. But looking at teams - they split. Both awesome. and I think LSUs' 11-0 had more wins vs top 5 , top 10 and top 25 than any team in history. So I wont stir the pot. Bama crushed LSU in Natty. So I could say those two teams right behind 95 Huskers

The Roids thing is a cop out. The reason I feel it was that Husker team is that they could just tell you the play they were going to run and nobody in the nation. Even the MNC could stop it.

Yes I am sure they roided. Yes I am sure other schools roided. Hell people is highschool roided.

Ok, they were the best of the chemical era, the 1939 Vols were the best of the natural era.

Sewanee Iron Men - greatest college football team ever. Imagine any other team listed on this thread playing and winning this schedule.

10.21.99 Georgia (Atlanta) W 12–0 : Dawgs other losses were Vols and Tar Heels that year
10.23.99 Georgia Tech (Atlanta) W 32–0
10.28.99 Tennessee at HOME W 46–0 : Vols went 6-2 (other loss to Va Tech)
11.03.99 SW Pres at HOME W 54–0
11.09.99 Texas (Austin) W 12–0 : Texas went 6-2 (other loss to Dores)
11.10.99 Texas A&M (Houston) W 10–0 : TAMU went 4-2 (other loss to Texas)
11.11.99 Tulane (New Orleans) W 23–0
11.13.99 LSU (Baton Rouge) W 34–0 : LSU also lost to TX, TAMU, and Ole Miss
11.14.99 Ole Miss (Memphis) W 12–0 : Ole Miss also lost to Bama and Vandy
11.20.99 Cumberland at HOME W 71–0
11.30.99 Auburn (Montgomery) W 11–10 : Auburns only loss that season
12.02.99 North Carolina (Atlanta) W 5–0 : Tar Heels went 7-3-1 that season

+ played 75% of their games on the road
+ played their entire season in about half the current football season
+ schedule has 10 current FBS schools including 9 in the Big 5 (ACC, B1G, B12, PAC, SEC)
+ Only Auburn team coached by John Heisman was able to score on them
+ Sewanee was one of the first college football powers of the South, and the 99' team in particular was very strong.
