The debate over who is the "best all-time SEC football player" often comes down to whether you pick the player who was the best player (i.e. individual records, success in the NFL, etc) or the player who contributed the most to his team (i.e. the Most Valuable Player)... Opinions?

In college, Tebow has to be in the conversation.

Cannon, Herschel, Bo, Tebow, Newton
All were heisman winners.

Left off these heisman winners because I thought they weren't as good as the one's listed above:
Sinkwich, Spurrier, Sullivan, Rogers, Wuerffel, Ingram

Troy Twillie gets my vote.

The magic was brought back.

Or Hershel walker.

As much as I hate to say it, but Cam was 2nd in the country in passing efficiency and first in the SEC in rushing TD's. There is just no denying what he did.

In my opinion the best ever must have played more than 1 season to be considered. It has to be between Bo Jackson and Herschel Walker. You can't go wrong with either one. As a side note, I think if Bo Jackson would have stayed injury free and just played football instead of baseball, he would be known as the greatest footlball player ever. I can still see him pancaking Brian Bozworth. I loved that.

I'll add Darren McFadden to that list.

Gotta go with Herschel - the only player in NCAA history to finish top 3 in the Heisman 3 consecutive years.

Walker
Tebow
Jackson
All three dominated for several years unlike Cam who only played one.
For the rant I say Faulk the greatest Tiger.

Just for the sake of argument, Walker scored 52 TD's in three seasons. Cam Newton scored 49 in one. I understand the positions are very different, but the numbers are the numbers.

In no order:

Archie Manning
Herschel Walker
Lee Roy Jordan
Joe Namath

Cam Newton wasn't as good as Archie Manning.

Tim Tebow, Cam Newton, Peyton Manning, Hershal Walker, Bo Jackson, Danny Wuerful and Champ Bailey are the first ones that come to mind. (HM to Shaun Alexander, Deuce McAllister, Kevin Faulk, Eli Manning & Darren McFadden)
