BCS would have been a disaster this year

With bama obviously #1, Clemson, OSU and Washington would all have a strong case to get a shot at bama. With the CFP, they will all get their chance to prove it on the field. The BCS would have been full of controversy after whoever wound up #2 got killed by Bama and #3 and #4 claim "we deserved to be there over them in the first place"

The exact same thing is about to happen. Penn state will say they'd won, just like when they weren't good enough to beat Miami in '86 but still did.

Ohio state would have been in. Best OOC win plus 3 wins over top 10 teams and their only loss to a top 10 team.

Reminiscent of when #3 USC beat #4 Michigan in the Rose Bowl in 2004 and claimed themselves national champions.

We have the BCS rankings for this

It would have been Alabama - Ohio State

Yeah, but you got to stop growing. 4 is enough and there is no need for a committee. The old system would have worked just fine. If you are #5 thats just too bad. All of the teams that had a chance for the playoffs lost 2 games so they have no real argument.

Would have been Bama-tOSU, and there really wouldn't have been much bitching IMO since they're the runaway #1 and #2 in the computers.
