This one is entirely on me. Last week I made a joke about Auburn baseball being a team of destiny this season to rile up their fans... obviously I put the weenie to them.

Sorry, but there was a pre-existing condition. The Auburn Bowl guy jumped in bad mouthing State when they swept Alabama talking about how State struggled to beat the worst team in the SEC. He jinxed them so this one is all on him. I do have to give it to you in that anyone thinking up something like Auburn being a team of destiny definitely has a vivid imagination.

No, I put the jinx on Auburn before that saying this is becoming new territory for them. I'm not saying they still can't win it but I won't say I didn't expect a melt at some point.

Ah, now I don't feel as bad. No, the team of destiny joke was along the lines of how Auburn does better the lower the expectations are for them.
Regardless I'll wait until the last week or so before football starts up to begin predicting that this is the year that Auburn football makes the playoffs. It would be cruel to jinx them now.
