They beat Wichita, who isn't that good, and who also didn't have Van Vleet.

But this isn't a shot at Alabama. It's a shot at Wichita. They aren't good, yet have been ranked in the Top 25 a lot of the season. And they stayed in the Top 25 this week after losing to Illinois State.

The one that has turned in to a surprisingly good win was the one at Clemson.

Yeah the shockers are very much overrated this year. Unlike their past teams, which went undefeated into the tourney or made the final four, they have been poor offensively. They're 168th offensively in scoring offense and 110th in 3PFGM. Which is odd, because I really think the have a talented roster with a good amount of experience. Their chemistry seems a bit off.

Looking back for Alabama, it really sucks that they couldn't finish against Oregon. Alabama seemingly did everything they could to beat them, and let it slip away. Retin had an off game, and Hale was out. That would almost for certain put AlaBama a lock for the tourney now.

Okay ... I guess. Notre Dame is in the Top 25?

As Bayou noted, Wichita State just climbed-back-in with an 18-6 record and barely at 132 pts. I guess you can count them.

And SCAR is at 26 with 128 pts although most everyone agrees SCAR should be ranked higher.

I dunno ... I guess it is something to hand your hats on ... I guess. I dunno.

OP sure is making a big deal out of it.

Clemson is a better team than both Notre Dame and Wichita State IMHO. Y'all beat them right? It's a better win IMHO.

Your two OOC losses to Xavier and Dayton are respectable losses ... nothing wrong with those. Oh wait, you lost by 32 to Dayton, by 19 to Xavier ... that's not so bad considering. And you lost to Oregon in a close one, again, another ranked team, but at home.

Four road games remaining, three of them very tough, the rest are very winnable.

Y'all played a helluva schedule so far - here's to hoping it plays in your favor come tourney time.

But the OP is wrong, you've really only played beaten two teams currently in the AP Top 25. Of course that could change again by the time the tourney selection rolls around and it probably will.

I think it was just counting the wins for when they were in the top 25. Notre Dame was #17 when Bama beat them, but theY have fallen out since then, despite good wins.

Wichita State does not deserve to be in the top 25 at all. They play in a extremely easy conference. Before their loss, they had a crazy win streak in their conference.

Notre Dame is really coming into a good form lately. They just beat Clemson on the road.

Clemson looked like it was going to be a good win for Bama and us ... but not so much anymore. They were on a roll for awhile though.

I'd still take that win over Wichita State right now though, although I doubt the computers see it that way. They may be tourney time though, who knows.

Yeah, if Alabama could have finished Oregon off they'd be in pretty good shape for a bid this year.

As it stands now, I think they're a long shot for the tourney.

However, if they finish 4-3 to get to 18-12 (9-9) and then win one in the SEC tourney they'll certainly have a profile that will get some consideration with the Top25 wins and what would probably be an RPI in the 40s.

Not sure many Alabama would have thought they'd have such a decent shot at this point to play their way in. Avery really seems to be a fantastic hiring for them so far.

All of us were just hoping to make the NIT this year with a new coach coming in and losing so much of our scoring

With the roster we had coming back and the schedule we were facing, we didn't expect to even have a hat, much less a place upon which to hang it.

The fact that we're a bubble team in mid-February has us all more than a little giddy......

I guess it is the current top 25. The SEC has more wins total against THEN top 25 teams.
