Certainly an interesting week we had in the SEC with some unexpected results. Our new #1 Florida swept our weekly #14 Mizzou, but lost their 2 midweek games against Jacksonville & Florida A&M . #2 Alabama dropped their series to #4 SC. #3 LSU eventually took care of business against #10 Tennessee, and #5 Ole Miss kicked #6 Kentucky's arse in Lexington.

If you want to contribute to this week's Baseball Power Rankings, submit your 1-14 ranking of the SEC teams here or email it to me (email is in my profile). We will randomly pick 2 rankings out of all the reasonable ones submitted. Voting closes at the end of Monday, and the winners will be announced in the Baseball Power Rankings thread on Tuesday.

Here are some suggestions that we give to the regular voters:
quote:

We aren't going to tie your hands with a "formula" but we encourage you to use some of the following: the past week's results, team momentum/trend, conference record, rankings (RPI, SOS, CBN, Coaches, NPI, etc), team stats, OOC record, overall record, eye-test. We trust that you're able to form your own combo of these elements without our guidance, but we would like you to emphasize what a team has most recently accomplished.

The Power Ranking from last week (Week 6)*
1. Florida
2. Alabama
3. LSU
4. South Carolina
5. Ole Miss
6. Kentucky
7. Mississippi State
8. Arkansas
9. Vanderbilt
10. Tennessee
11. Texas A&M
12. Georgia
13. Auburn
14. Missouri

I expect Bama to go 2-4 or 3-3 the next two weekends and drop back while OM and LSU win and move up.. They lead the West so I'm keeping them in the 3 spot for now... Wouldn't be surprised to see Auburn take 2/3 at home this weekend and move up while MSU continues their free fall.

I thought I read that Arky and MSU were good earlier this year.

Very telling that 4 of the bottom 5 are, imho, eastern division schools.

I kept Bama ahead of Ole Miss. for 2 reasons, we swept them and because if our # 3 hadn't of been suspended for the USCe game we would have had a much better shot at taking the series, with him out going 1-2 was expected by me. He will be back this week, I hope we pitch him a little vs. Samford.

The top 4 to me are interchangeable. I put Ole Miss ahead of LSU, despite the fact that they beat us at home, because I left that series thinking Ole Miss was the better team.
