You must be new to coaching searches.

If a program is given permission to pursue a coach, makes a legit salary offer, and both parties are happy, I don't think that can ever be characterized as stealing.
Thankfully, Coach Sumlin is happy right now.

I mean why wouldn't we? He's a good coach. I was skeptical of him before this year but seeing what y'all did in your first year in the SEC was impressive.

Nobody wants him and the mediocrity that comes with him. He's perfect for Aggy.

Rumor is that he has accepted the offer and will be named AU new HC.

Awesome.
AU got themselves a mediocre, "aggy" coach.

Yeah, I couldn't believe it when I read this on ESPN. Why the hell would he leave the golden ticket of Manziel?
Destination job's make people do crazy things though.

Someone just earned himself a salty pay raise today. link
CBSSports has learned the 48-year-old Sumlin was pursued by three NFL teams as well as one major university this past month. Before this new deal, Sumlin, who led the Aggies to a road victory over No. 1 Alabama and a top-five finish, was the lowest-paid head coach in the SEC.

with a source telling ESPN's Joe Schad the new deal is for five years, taking the coach's contract through 2017.

Lol, without jff, sumlin is likely nothing more than a 5 and 19 coach. No thanks.

Exactly. Gene Chizik looked great when he had a superstar, and at least Chizik recruited and signed the superstar.

Interesting perspective.
Guess time will tell.

I certainly hope Jacobs tried...he's a great coach. Knowing our dumbass AD, he probably tried looking for a Kelvin Sumlin and came up empty.

Sumlin can't without Sam Bradford
Sumlin can't without Case Keenum
Sumlin can't without Manziel
Sumlin can't without Kenny Hill
Sumlin can't without ________?

Sumlin can't win in the SEC without JFF. I know you won't be convinced until it happens, i've been there before. Sorry for your delusion.

How can we be convinced if you do nothing but provide conclusory assertions?

Manziel's backup doesn't suck. In fact, he was our starter until just before the first game of the season.
You may be right, WDE24. Then again, you could be wrong. Looking forward to watching it all unfold.
