Bama figured in all those postseason bonuses they promised their players when they signed. Hiding it in travel expenses.

To be fair, we may have more money to toss around like drunken sailors than OSU. Hell, we only carry a handful of non-revenue sports... and a lot of them, like gymnastics and softball make up for big chunks of themselves in attendance, donations and coverage.
Ohio State has more men's teams than we have... teams. Some of their Non SEC sports include Fencing, men's gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, field hockey.... friggin synchronized swimming... and most of these are men's and women's. That's a lot in scholarships, coaches and gameday operations.

Not sure about this bowl game, but in the past Saban has given players the option to drive because they get paid for mileage and there's a loophole where 5 guys can ride in one vehicle but all 5 get paid for the mileage (I think he said something to this effect his first couple years).
