No school spent more money on a single playoff game than Alabama, which accumulated almost $2.6 million in expenses for its semifinal loss to Ohio State in nearby New Orleans. The Buckeyes spent about $558,000 less than Alabama despite traveling from a farther distance.

.............................

In all seriousness, why such a difference?

WTF kind of responses are you looking for?? Do you want us to reconcile all of the expenses related to the trip? OSU beat us by a touch down. Why do you care??

The actual cost per person in the travel party was $2,820 for Bama and $2,816 for OSU. Bama took more people. Let me call Saban and Bill Battle and get an explanation on why Bama took more people and I will get back with you.

Alabama fans fully expected to be in the national championship game, and consequently Alabama actually ended up eating more tickets than the others because so many skipped the "first round" expecting to go to the title game.
