How much of the success that Bama is having is credited to saban v the ability of Bama to attract the premier players. No question it is a mixture of both but before he arrived they/you still recruited well but had shite coaching. Saban arrives and it is the perfect storm! When he retires no doubt you will have the players but it will be hard to find another coach near the level of saban- it will be interesting to see just how much of it is saban. He did well at lsu but he certainly has progressed since his departure or it seems at least so. Definitely found asst coaches he can trust with the offense.

Find we one program, even those with inherent advantages, that had success despite the head coach. If you don't have a competent coach, you're not going to win. Why do you think Notre Dame, USC, Texas, and Ohio State all went decades between titles?
