The proof is in the record.
It's what we do.
It's what we do.

Nick Saban made Bama elite.. Buy spending tons of money on high school kids

REC bought Saban elite. Record shows it. When he plays elite he looks average at best.

It's a perfect storm situation. Both made the other better and reach true potential

Of course Bama did.
Gene Stallings went undefeated and won the SEC and MNC
Bill Curry and M Dubose won the SEC at Bama
Shula won 10 games
Bama took Saban from great to legendary.
It's how it's always been.

Well said and I agree, Saban has organization skills and builds his teams through a process with team discipline, conditioning and lack of metal errors is amazing.
As far as the actual X's and O's or on the field coaching there are many just as good but when it comes to recruiting and preparation there are non close.

Agree with you that what makes him the greatest is his attention to detail, organization and recruiting. There are very few peers on his level as a defensive coach. Nick Saban is a defensive genius.

Well, we have had five coaches win football national titles, and four of them won more than one.
Wallace Wade
Frank Thomas
Bear Bryant
Gene Stallings
Saban
Saban really should have a couple more, and he only has one undefeated season in his entire career, 2009 at BAMA.

When some doubt creeps in, they must reassure each other.

Buy spending? Hell don't forget the money we spend on local DA's, am I right?

You're the best at offering reassurance.

Shula's record while at Alabama:
2003--4-9 (5th in Western Div.)
2004--6-6 (3rd in Western Div.)
2005--10-2 (3rd in Western Div.)
2006--6-6 (4th in Western Div)
Hardly "Elite".

what did Bama do for the coach Shula or Price or Franchoni (sp?) or Dubose? Get real if bama made coaches who they are, the previous 4 would have been great too. Saban was just getting started at LSU and would have probably done the same there that he has at Bama if he wouldn't have left
