10%

such a HUGE number!

So out of 10 possible opportunities the "average" team gets called 10 times and Bama gets called 9 times.

Also, read the article. It talks about Flagship teams (of which, for whatever reason, it lists LSU & AU) are also less likely than other teams in the conference to get called for penalties.

And 90% more likely to cover the line against Auburin.

Only 10% less likely? If the number is really that low, then the LSU posters on this board are full of shite.

If it makes you feel better, tell yourself that Bama only won 3-0.

Could be. Alabama has what? 1 or 2 big games a year where they are actually threatened? Concentrate all those calls into those games and it could have a significant impact

This 10% number doesn't seem to be accurate to the Auburn guy behind me at the Iron Bowl. He called out at least 30 Holding calls on Alabama.

Stands to reason that talented, well-coached teams would commit 10% fewer penalties.

You guys should probably take a look at Appendix D. Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Florida and Auburn all pretty clearly have a wider gap of less penalties "In Conference" than "Out of Conference".

The only reason those were the only ones included were because thy are both Flagship Teams and Teams that are in the Playoff Hunt. They aren't the ONLY ones that hit the 10% threshold. Dummies.
