After Saban hired Kiffin Finebaum said he was "panicked in light of what Gus Malzahn accomplished in his first season"

So now l6u fans want to get behind Finebaum, LOL.

Has he ever Coach a dual threat qb? I seriously don't know.

Well, Saban did try to get the rules changed immediately.

It didn't matter who the hire was. There was always going to be some negative narrative. I can't say how successful Daboll will be, but I do know Saban will be quick to make a change if it doesn't go well. But he's been pretty damn good in getting the most of his OC.

Don't think it really matters. Kiffin hadn't in his entire career until Blake Sims and then Hurts.

Finebaum though Kiffin was a bad hire

Kiffin never had. And frankly, why does that matter? Many of the philosophies that he runs from the New England offense easily incorporate a running threat.

Alabama will be fine because they're Alabama, but it is a very underwhelming hire.

I was addressing the "panicked Saban" quote.

Probably worth throwing on the tape of the Patriots games in week 3 and 4 with Brissett. Dumbed down offense for dual threat QB. If I had to guess I'd say we see a very similar version of that at Alabama.

The panicked Saban quote was Finebaum describing his hire of Lane Kiffin.

LOL yes, Brian Daboll ruined the Cleveland Browns.
You cracked the case!
This is funny coming from the same poster who listed the exact same statistics for Matt Canada to try and prove how much of a shitty hire LSU made
I think your biggest critique of Canada was that he was mediocre at NC State yet, you want to talk about the lack of talent Daboll had to work with while he was at Cleveland, Miami, and KC
Your hypocrisy is sad

I've made it abundantly clear that Daboll is a wild card. I have no idea if it will work out.

That is patently false. I NEVER said Canada was a bad hire. EVER. I said he wasn't the greatest OC of all time because of one season but in all likelihood he'd be a solid OC. Don't make things up. Once again, I think Canada was a very solid hire.
So in conclusion, I said Canada would probably be good and I didn't know if Daboll would be any good. Also, I laughed at the implication that a 2 year OC is the reason the Browns have sucked for 30 years.
Other than that, you nailed it!

The fact that Bama Fans are not rubbing everybody's nose in it, says a lot about this hire.

I actually love the hire at least the style of offense he runs. I hated the direction of the offense and Kiffin sucks at developing QB. I obviously would have preferred Sarkesians ability to develop QBs but I hate the sideline to sideline offense especially when the guys recruited to play OL are run blocking maulers. We've been running a zone blocking scheme that I find ineffective.

A great many Alabama fans didn't like any of Saban's previous OC hires, but all except Applewhite turned out ok to very good. Even Nussmeier won a national title. Interestingly enough, Applewhite was probably the most popular hire of OCs among Alabama fans.
