Also, the 1957 and 1993 teams were on probation and did not participate in the postseason. Lots of teams have gone undefeated in the regular season, only to lose in the postseason (Bama last year and in 2008, for example). So, those two "undefeated" seasons have significant asterisks.

I didn't say the championship has an asterisk. I said the undefeated season does - they still might've lost their bowl game if they had not been on probation.
