Bama Fans

Congratulations on the big win against LSU. It was a great game to watch as an impartial fan. I am not a Bama hater. But I do have a question. Do most adult Bama fans with kids teach those kids to be arrogant and delusional assholes at an early age? I know LSU fans do as I have witnessed in first hand with kids acting like trash when I have visited BR for games in 03 and again in 08.

I pick up my son and daughter at school everyday at 3pm and I have an arrangement where I pick up a friends 8 year old son and bring him to my house . In exchange, they pick up my other daughter at middle school where their older boy also attends. Just negates both of us having to wait in two lines. The parents are Bama fans and don't seem to be of the arrogant trashy type in person. However, I never see them around their kind and judging by the behavior of their kid.....it makes me wonder what he sees and hears at home to be such a little prick.

Today, for instance, I asked if he got to watch the game on Saturday against LSU. His answer was "yeah, we crushed them." I said "I mean the game this past Saturday night". He again said "yeah, we killed them. It was a blowout." I told him our idea of a blowout is much different then. "You know that game went to overtime, right?" He said it wouldn't have if Bama would have played their first string. No sense in debating a delusional 8 year old so I just changed the subject to this week. I said "well, it will be a great game this week against #1 ranked MSU." His reply was that Bama was now ranked #1 again and that they would kill MSU. I told him that Bama was ranked # 3 in the coaches poll yesterday and MSU was still #1. That Bama would surely be #1 though with a win on Saturday. He said "know we are not. We are ranked #1 now." Again, I dropped it but I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone.

This on top of stuff like "Bama hasn't lost a game in the SEC in 8 years." "At least we are still ranked #1".....after the Ole Miss game. And "Yeldon is the best RB in the country. He is actually better than most pro backs!" The best was about 5 weeks ago when he said that McCarron is the best starting QB in the pros(as he calls it). I informed him that McCarron wasn't even playing actively on an NFL roster. He seems confused when I tell him the truth. Is this just Bama parenting issues that make your fans crazy adults later in life or just an isolated incident? He otherwise is a good kid but when it comes to Bama related stuff he is scary delusional.
