How is he progressing? Is he expected to contribute next year? I hope so. Really wanted Memphis to hold onto this kid, but when the big dogs come calling it's hard to keep them at home.

I think he shed too much weight to be an effective NG now. He's not super strong like Josh Chapman, so he has needed most of that mass to be effective since HS.
He's way down there at NG this year, although he did play better than the 4th string NG against Georgia Southern. The dive play stopped being effective when they pulled Billingsly and inserted Ivory.
I think Williams is the NG for 2012 with Dial filling his job outside...

I don't believe he'll ever get meaningful snaps.
He doesn't run well enough to play the 5 technique. He has to play at nose or 3 technique.
He did get a few snaps this year, but it was mainly due to either blowouts or injuries.
He really has done a good job getting in better shape. When I first saw him I thought he was a 5'11 Terrance Cody.
