For the NFL this year? Honest question...why or why not?

Note: Assume Miles if fired/resigns and is available.

Yep.

LSU's fanbase is pathetic and unloyal. Best coach in LSU history.

I'd take him over any other SEC coach, without question.

Although I wouldn't understand what he says during press conferences.

Abso fricking lutely. Champioship coaches that average 10 wins a year don't grow on trees. His age is of concern but I think his best days are ahead of him now that he is committed to improving the offense.

Yes. As an off-field press conference "consultant".

He basically had 3 losing seasons with one 10 win season mixed in. Never beat Auburn. Never beat LSU. 1-3 against Tennessee.

Damn straight. We know he can win with Saban's players so he's a proven product in that regard.

That's not a fair question for several reasons.

Shula was faced with a Choice get rid of Dave raider he wouldn't. The offense was horrible and he should of change coordinators a year or 2 before he was fired. Also he was a horrible game day coach way to conservative. If it was 4th and one within the 5 yardline, he would always kick a field goal. There is no comparison between Shula and miles.

What LSU just can't grasp is the next coach is going to have a terrible time against Saban as well and that is what this is really about. Les Miles ain't Nick mfing Saban.

If Bama ever decides to hire a mumbling grass eating buffoon, I'm sure he'll get the first call.

Yup.. For sure... Would take the Hat over... Shula,Price. Francione (sp)... Etc.... Minus that Corndog fanbase.. Miles is a great coach.... Will be very successful, after he gets away from that poor situation in corndog - land. Just a self- entitled fanbase, that don't realize, that mediocre, is the best that they will ever be.

No, because I wouldn't trust him with personnel choices and isn't considered an offensive or defensive "genius". He has lost his team, and his players flake on him year after year for even the minute draft grade. He is consistently under performing with some of the best talent this nation can offer, 80% of it in his back yard. And his persona is one that I can't take serious as the HC of the football team I root for. I rather root for the a-hole who knows what he's doing than the nice guy who eats grass on Saturdays.

He carries no appeal to me...

I mean, technically speaking us fans couldn't hire him...but yeah, if we could, why not? Les Miles is a good coach. Of course, I would think of Kirby Smart as head coach or someone else on the current Alabama coaching staff before looking elsewhere. (I dunno, I'm probably in the minority on that one.)

It's easier to win at Alabama than LSU, he'd have a better record here than he would there given the same time period.
