auburn sucks and Tennessee is still a hilarious dumpster fire.

I'm still taking in what's happened in football over the last three weekends, so here are my observations about the southernmost state of Brazil and how it compares to the Southern US:
1. Most importantly, the women: it's still Brazil. Good Lord in Heaven. The region is cooler, so there are a few less bikinis and a few more skintight pants and boots, but that's just fine with me. I honestly don't understand how any men get any work done down there.
2. Like the South, they also had a smaller civil war to break apart from the Northern part of the country, and they lost, and they continue to recognize that and celebrate it. The reasons were quite different; Southern Brazil has much less African influence and much fewer former slaves than the rest of the country, and there is a very heavy German and Italian influence.
3. If you've been to Brazil and you're uncomfortable with how the streets are not nearly as clean, it's a little better in Porto Alegre but it's still not as clean as most US cities. That's just part of it - it doesn't bother me, but it does some.
4. I'll keep it short and end here, so I'll go back to the women. Oh, MAN I'm going to miss the women. In the Southern part of Brazil, there are still many of the morenas, the shade of skin that most people associate with the country, and they are marvelous. But there is also a VERY strong Italian look to many of the women, and the mix is incredible. Also the German - some of the women are tall and blonde, and to die for; it's like they got the best part of German influence without getting any of the negative stereotype of a German woman.
Ok, thanks for reading this far. I promise you I enjoyed typing it and remembering the last two weeks even if you didn't enjoy reading it. Sigh.

Brah, Venezuelan women are a smoke show compared to Brazil, and Brazil is hawt. Traveled in the region a lot. The post WW2 European genetic influence is obvious. Go to Argentina and Buenos Aires is is like little italy...60 years ago.

I enjoyed reading about your experience in Brazil. I have always enjoyed seeing other parts of the world, and hearing about it from others.

Would love to see Buenos Aires - if I had planned better I could have made a quick flight there, I was so close.
I only know Brazil because I've been there over and over to visit the wife's family. I am going to try to see Europe and other parts of South America soon.
