What happened ? For years you guys had a solid front seven, especially your LBs. Go back and watch LF7s carries and notice the absolute destruction point of attack. Your DL and LBs were pancaked on several plays. It was quite shocking to see. Has Gus recruited that poorly on tyt side of the ball the last few years ?

They put all their eggs in the Lawson basket and have been burned two years straight. They need to realize you need depth on the line.

I know right, our coaches are so dumb for not even bothering to pursue depth!

And your defense sucks again. All I hear is how without Lawson the Auburn defense is nowhere near the same. That is true, but that is the coaches fault for not having backups that can play close to that level. It's one thing to have a drop off when a star goes down, it is another to completely suck when it happens.

They've recruited a ton of D talent. I'm not sure what happens to them on the plains.

Our coaches are pussies and our players follow their attitudes.

Recruiting. UGA has kicked our arse for defensive linemen along with FSU for 4-5 years now. Bama has done the same for linebackers. We have been getting a lot of low fours and three star guys.

Adams and lawson are the only truly significant defensive line recruiting battles we have one there. And Gabe Wright.

Kwon (lsu), foster, and Evans were our big lb targets and we missed all three. Kris Frost has always been terrible in run support and before him was holland.

They've just got the perfect shite storm happening on defense for them:

*Injuries
*Implementing a new system
*Lack of talent/development from the previous defensive staff
*Young players having to learn on the field as they go

It was never gonna be a great year for them defensively, and those reasons definitely didn't help placate it.

Not sure. Forgot about him.

Also, I do think Gardner has been underwhelming. Really though, we need a strong MLB. Haven't had one since 2010.

Your full back is pretty imposing. Hard to tackle LF when you are lying on your back

There isn't as much talent out there as our highly rated classes might suggest. Injuries, attrition and bust make up for a couple of decent players and a bunch of low 4* and 3* guys. Some highly rated Freshman are showing potential.
