"Wear an LSU poncho. It reduces the likelihood of being urinated on, while protecting you in the event you do get urinated on."

There is some gold in that thread. I wonder if they really believe the stuff they are posting.

If anyone is dumb enough to believe that, I'm glad they don't go anyway.

Also realize you are going to get quite a few of them get in your face screaming at you, and I mean outside the stadium before and after. Just know that somehow this is FUN for them- their idea of intimidation isn't just a loud stadium, they want to scare you.

Give to every LSU fan you see.

1994
Auburn was on a 14-game winning streak and ranked #11 in nation under coach Terry Bowden when LSU traveled to Auburn in 1994, but it was the Bengal Tigers who led 23-9 entering the fourth quarter. LSU quarterback Jamie Howard threw five fourth quarter interceptions - three returned for touchdowns - as Auburn extended their winning streak to 15 games with a 30-26 win. Auburn, with star running back Stephen Davis, was held to a mere 165 total yards, and Howard received death threats after the loss.

Like old stories about Jamie Howard and Curley Hallman are going to rustle my jimmies.

LSU fan and female friend sit in front of them at a game in Baton Rouge. The guy starts dog cussing every thing bama does and finally my friend starts having "words" with the guy. They jaw back and forth and both eventually settle down. Third quarter and the guy starts up again, smell of bourbon was in the air. He and my friend start woofing at each other and they both square off...........the guy's gal friend jumps up with a switch blade and puts it under my friend's throat and tells him to shut up and sit down or she will gut him.

They trying to say a female pulled a switchblade in TS? fricking hilarious.

1) Get there as late as possible. Forget about tailgating at the stadium. It's way too dangerous. Taking a bus to the stadium is a really good way to get there.
2) Park in a lot that is protected by security. Also, it is better to go in a car that is devoid of any stickers or anything that would identify you as an Auburn fan. One other thing, make sure your car insurance is up to date, a rental car is advisable and get the insurance, or better yet, like I said, take a bus.
3) Try to be invisible entering and leaving the stadium. Do not try to talk to the LSU fans. Obnoxious does not even begin to explain these guys after they have been sitting around drinking all afternoon.
4) Leave the game as soon as you can and get out of town. Don't event think about sticking around in Baton Rouge unless you are looking for a fight.
5) If we should win, run to your car and leave even faster. Celebrate in New Orleans, Hattiesburg or somewhere else a long way from there.
6) Lastly, take a change of clothes. It is hot down there, there is no circulation in that stadium and since they fully enclosed it, it is much worse. Also, the chances of getting something thrown on you is high, particularly leaving the stadium. We always take another shirt along just in case.

The LSU fans are not what you would call hospitable. That might be the worst place I've ever been to a game. It certainly ranks in the bottom 2, and I can't remember what might be in there with them. I don't go down there any more. I enjoy the games, but it isn't worth what you have to put up with.

I hope your experience is better than the ones I've had in Baton Rouge...

Poor guy, are they really trolling him that hard or have they convinced themselves that LSU is that bad of a place to visit?

Went to LSU in 2007. One of the most fun experiences I've ever had, and yes, the trash talking was thick.

Also, I was given a bowl of red beans and rice, a bowl of jambalaya, boudin, and an Abita beer all from different tailgates. Not one was poisoned!

** Funny part of the trip I just remembered - My friend and I were looking for a bathroom and someone pointed to a building. Ended walking right through a horde of LSU tents. I'd say 100 people were chanting Tiger Bait and shaking their fists at us. Good times.

I've always had better luck laughing it off and walking away (I've even wound up having a civil conversation or two with some of these types).

Imagine that.

You might even get invited to the tailgate if you put up with a little initial ribbing. LSU fans like to bust other fanbase's balls.
