how would you feel about Mike Leach assuming he got a solid DC on his staff??? Just curious.

It is somewhat intriguing, but I do not not think it would work. I am not sure his attitude would mesh with the administration or AU fans and he does not have the clout to make demands like Saban. Plus, how well could he recruit against Saban? After the failed Franklin experiment, it would be tough. I personally would be skeptical. If he kept Rhoades, like I said, it would be interesting and the nasty attitude his O-line appears to have is a plus, but I think a lot would say this is not Auburn football. Plus, a lot would question how well it would work against SEC defenses today. I know his offense was pretty successful at UK, but I think there would be a lot of skepticism.

IMO, he would not do well vs. SEC......just a different level when it comes to defense. If he did have success, it would obviously be before everyone figured the offensive scheme out, then what? Not a good choice longterm....

Agree 100%. If he had success, SEC defenses are too good and well coached and it would be short lived. At first I thought he was a legit candidate, but I do not think he is being seriously considered now.

Tony Franklin would tell everyone what he was going to do.

It is going to be really strange seeing someone besides Tubby on the sidelines for the games. Is Jimbo still in the lead or is there someone else?

I agree. I already miss Tubs and am sad about it.

I would say he is the top candidate. With his ties, it would make a lot of sense.

I'm sorry Tiger that you are sad.

Thanks Cutie. I'll live, but I really liked and respected Tubs a lot. It almost feels like losing a friend, kinda like when Pat Dye retired to me but not quite to the same extent. It's gonna be tough to accept a new coach and not have Tubs anymore.
Oh well, good luck to you and scoop and a couple of other bammers here tomorrow night. I will be pulling for the chomp chomp, but I will not really be upset if you guys win either.

He was a dang good coach. This year was so unlike him. I'm sure you guys will find a good coach and will do fine. May take a year or so, but you guys will be back to being a thorn in our side..lol.
