Since AU & LSU have used this in the SEC for decades, it appears to me that the Show me state (SEC wannabees) might have ripped off one of us.

Missouri invented Homecoming.
Missouri Tigers are named after a Civil War regiment that protected Columbia, MO from Confederate assholes.
Missouri Tigers are the original tigers.
