Alabama plays 12 regular season games.

8 SEC teams (4 at home and 4 away)
3 Cupcakes (at home)
1 Power 5 school (either at a Neutral site or a home and home series in back to back year)

That has been Alabama's schedule the last several years and that's how it looks to be planned for the future.

Where does a home and home with UAB fit in there?
1. We going to give up a cupcake at home to go play an away game? frick no.
2. We going to not schedule a big time program like FSU or USC and schedule UAB? Nope.

There is zero benefit to playing UAB.

No....frick 'em.....there is only one football team at the University of Alabama system and you know which one that is.

...and you are delusional about UAB's support anyway:

Watts: We'll bring football back if you can raise the money.

UAB Boosters: We have $30MM in commitments.....Actual amount? $28,000.....but, but, but, bring it back and we will deliver on the commitments......

You are still getting played by the BOT and UAB doesn't have the support anyway.......

Well shite dumbfrick, if I took away all of bamas facilties so they couldn't recruit, made 10 year old their coach, and made them play on a high school field in atmore, your arse wouldn't go watch them play. If bama would have left them the frick alone, they would have a decent program, a decent stadium, and decent attendance. Wtf is so hard for you idiots to understand?

TiM you sound more irritated and upset about UAB football than you did last season when your Auburn football team lost 5 games.

Calm down man, this has nothing to do with Auburn.

I really hope that UAB separates from UAT. UAT doesn't need them anyway. It would be the best thing for all involved.

I feel sure TiM has already scratched out his check for his pledge to the Blazers.

As soon as they move the medical school back to Tuscaloosa. Bye.

That's fine, but it's the Univeristy of Alabama's Medical School that they will be seperating from as well.

Would you be in favor of a home and home series with UAB once they start back up in 2017? I personally think it would be great for the state.

You're right. Except one thing:

We don't do things because it's great for the state. We do things because it's bad for the state.

Nothing done within the borders is done to benefit anything inside the borders.

UAB has done quite well on their own in that department.

It is UABs medical school and the only reason it is worth a damn is they managed to disassociate with alabama so that it could succeed.

Bama has been trying to ride uabs coattails to prop up the pitiful academics of uat for a while bit it doesn't work. No one associates the two and UAB wouldn't piss on bama to save their arse. UAB probably wishes uat didn't exist anymore as it is.

No. Should do the same thing for Troy or South Alabama if they did that for UAB. UAB is nothing special.

UAB is the largest employer in the state. It is also an autonomous and independent university and has been for the past 46 years.

That's great, but I still don't think they should get a home and home w/ Auburn and/or Alabama.

See my post. UAB is already separate from UAT and has been for almost half a century.

The only thing is they share a state board that is run by Bryant junior who just wants to dismantle uab athletics because he is a worthless frickwad.

Otherwise, there is nothing in common. UAB is independent, has it's own endowment, ciriculum, admission standards, etc.

Well, it doesn't much matter from AUs perspective IMO. AU has already played them in football and in basketball dozens of times.

Bama was forced to play them once and they kicked bamas arse, which was pretty funny.

My A&M Bulldogs had more maroon in Legion Field than Blazer fans. Kicked their arse in the first half too.

Where would we get our money to buy recruits if we did that?
