Difference is they would be playing UAB and get a rent-a-win...not Alabama with Bear Bryant as coach and get a rent-an-arse kicking....
The biggest difference is bama isn't playing all of their home games at Legion Field any more....then calling the IB a "neutral site".

It was called a neutral site because of the ticket allotment.

if the ticket allotment at JH stadium was "neutral" would Bama fans have a problem with playing there every year?

Personel wise, UAB is going to be in a We Are Marshall situation when they start playing again in 2017. Money aside, I think it's in their best interest to stay away from every SEC team for a good while.
Aside from that, I keep hearing about how Bama should do this to help out UAB, keep the revenue in state, etc. But, it's no secret that UAB fans hate us Gumps, so why go where we aren't wanted? To me this seems like just another case of UAB football fans wanting someone to show up and drop a big pile of cash in their front yard, just because they think they deserve it.

Blah, blah, blah, wah, wah, wah... if you and the other eleven uab supporters had actually, you know, SUPPORTED the program, uab wouldn't be in this situation. Again, uab supporters are always full of excuses...

Home-and-home with ticket sales split 50/50 - like the Legion Field days except alternating between the two schools' on-campus stadiums. That would be fun.

It was called a neutral site because it wasn't on either school's campus. It had absolutely nothing to do with ticket allotment.

If UAB wants to take football seriously they have to do 2 things: Agree to on campus facility with only 10k seats and play all home games on Thursdays. That is the only way they can be profitable.

Abstract
This study builds on a conceptual framework that explores of the relationship between relative fan attendance, stadium size and home field advantage in college football. We extend the conceptual model by providing empirical estimates of the impact that various ticket allotment arrangements and home stadium size have on the probability of winning in college football. The Auburn–Alabama rivalry (the “Iron Bowl”) provides a unique case given that the series has been played both at a neutral site with an equal division of tickets, as well as on a home-and-home basis with an uneven ticket split and nonuniform stadium capacities.
Per The Social Science Journal
you can't argue with science.

I don't see either Bama or Auburn having anything to lose by agreeing to a home & home with the Blazers.
Except a home game and millions of dollars

But Boise is in a barren market. Birmingham is saturated. Tulane just built an on campus stadium and their average attendance went up about 1,000. That number is very unlikely to get larger

I don;t think it would cost them money. In fact, it would save them money.
Oh, so you don't know what you are talking about.
It would cost Auburn a home game to go to Bham. So they would lose all the revenue that a home game supplies, even if it is against Idaho. Not to mention the local Auburn business that would lose money going to Bham to play UAB.

Well, that would be a real problem since the NCAA requires an average attendance (real or paid) of 15,000 to maintain FBS status.

The city of Birmingham had to buy 5,000 season tickets a year to help UAB make this number.

Looks like the support is piling in......
Almost two months after UAB president Ray Watts announced football was being reinstated, in large part due to $17.2 million in pledges from supporters, only $28,000 has actually been given to the program, according to a source close to the athletic department.

Are you denying that the bama bot has actively worked to harm uab football in the past?
