No Alabama fan I know gives two fricks about UAB

UAB is my alma mater so I definitely care about it. I also enjoy going to the football games. They always have stuff for my kids to do and the tickets are cheap. I hope the team gets back on track and goes to a bowl game soon.

I also don't see the point in having the team at all if it's being propped up by the university as a whole. I will still go to games but I definitely didn't think it was a terrible decision to end the program. No one, other than the athletes, attends UAB solely because they have a football team. I didn't, and I don't know anyone else who did either.

ETA: Most of the adamant UAB football fans I know (the real fans, not the Auburn fans) only care about football because they went to UAB and UAB had a football team. They wouldn't watch at all if UAB didn't have it. They don't do a very good job of helping the school hype the program.

Why are so many Bama fans so overtly sensitive and hostile about anything to do with UAB?

For me personally, it's the fact that uab fans (all twelve of them) blame the University of Alabama for their football woes, when the truth is they have never supported the program the way an FBS program needs to be supported.

Plan on it. My oldest starts there this Fall. Hoping they get an on-campus facility in the future. It would do wonders for downtown like the new Regions Park has.
I kind of agree with this, but the problem is there is a bigger show just 45 minutes southwest.

Have y'all been living under a rock or in a cave? The announcement that UAB would again field a football team in 2017 was made weeks ago.

Announcements made in 2015 are meaningless.

I'd say the odds of them actually ever fielding a team at the FBS level is less than 25%.

The delivery of pledged funds is already behind and the issue's still hot. In another 6 months, it will probably dwindle down to a trickle.

This uproar from aubies was something else for them to blame Alabama. It helps them cope with their massive inferiority complex to blame some other entity for every shortcoming they have. There is a medical term for it but it escapes me at the moment..

True; if it were another SEC program and an associated satellite campus they wouldn't say a word. But, because Alabama is involved, many of them attempt to appear as though they care about UAB football.

What inferiority complex do Bama fans have? If anything our fanbase is notorious for looking down our noses at inferior programs.

You're not wrong. But when you guys act offended that we're poking at you, the same as we do to each other about every little thing it's pretty comical.

I thought it was more about the shady arse way the bama powers that be went about it that blew up in their face...ala Jetgate that backfired on the AU shysters.

But it was/is fun to watch the veins pop on some bama fans on this board.

all the traits you use to associate with an inferiority complex bama fans exhibit on a routine basis, so you tell me

The need for constant affirmation that you're great, the fact that you can't take a ribbing about this without constantly deflecting and blaming auburn.

In sum, you're no different than every other fan base, you just act like you are (hell you might even really believe you are).

Bama fans are so fricking stupid.

So many still won't admit that uab football would be doing just fine and self sufficient if bama had not actively worked hard to prevent uab football from succeeding.

All bama fans do is show their ignorance or willingness to lie when denying that.

So we prevented UAB football from succeeding? This sounds familiar. We've apparently done the same to aubie for over a century. Buying the state media and buying players and hiring state agents to sabotage poor lil aubie. Bunch of fricking bleeding vaginas.

I'd prefer if you used the word count when lashing out. It comes across stronger.

No dumbass, Bama tried to prevent AU from succeeding and got a big frick you and got pissed on.

Bama prevented uab from succeeding. Bama prevented to on campus Stadium for which uab had secured funding without uats help. Would not even vote on it. Prevented jimbos hiring.

Hell, bamas on newspaper has admitted these things.

When you sit here and deny, you look like a low integrity assclown. Just the the son of your hero/god I guess.

Congrats. It's pitiful but so is much of the bama fanbase.

What shortcomings do Alabama fans have?

Seriously, we are arrogant, spoiled rotten, elitist snobs with a "superiority" complex of massive proportions.
