Eh, I'm not going to a non sec (or power 5) away game, so i'd be spending that money that day in alabama anyway.

I mean sure, it'd be great to see a game close to my home, but it's not such a draw as it makes it a slam dunk must do for me.

Assuming AUM had a football team, how interested would you be to see AU play AUM?

Why are Auburn fans so fired up about UAB, yet never bother going to games?
Further, I'd challenge UAB sympathizing Auburn fans to at least care who they even play.

Plan on it. My oldest starts there this Fall. Hoping they get an on-campus facility in the future. It would do wonders for downtown like the new Regions Park has.

Like we'd ever let a satellite campus get a football team. That'd be dumb.

you know why, and you'd be the same way if the shoe was on the other foot.

Plus i'm sure a few of us actually care about Birmingham.

Why would either team agree to play at Legion? Out if the goodness of their hearts?

I agree that Legion Field needs to go. It's a dumpster fire sitting in the middle of a giant pile of dog shite.

If Alabama and Auburn wanted UAB to just come to T'town and the Plains, I'm sure UAB would expect a check. But if they came to UAB and offered a home and home with out a check, UAB would jump at that offer in a heartbeat, especially if it's a multi-year agreement with both schools.

That type of deal alone would save both Auburn & Alabama about 1.5 million dollars a year. I base that on the fact Alabama is paying MTS $1.5 million to come to Bryant-Denny this season. I'm sure Auburn is paying their cupcake games about that same amount. If they had a long term home & home agreement with UAB, say like a 10 year agreement, that's about $15 million dollars each program could save over that time.

Now that I think about it, they could in addition to UAB add Troy or South Alabama into the deal and over a 10 year span each team could save about $30 million dollars. And all the while pumping millions extra into the state's economy year after year.

From what I've been reading it's now over a million dollar payday. But in this instance their payday would not come from a check for taking a yearly beating on the road. Their payday would come from when Auburn or Alabama comes to Birmingham to play them. They get the revenue from the game plus it helps them keep their overall attendance average up as well. It could be structured to where every year they play one or the other at home.

They won't be spending that much money for a game in Birmingham.

Please tell us why Auburn or Alabama would agree to play any football games against anyone at Legion field.

Agreed. The administration isn't going to proceed without the promised booster monies, and the boosters claim they aren't ponying up the pledged money unless the administration makes certain moves.
