Would you be in favor of a home and home series with UAB once they start back up in 2017? I personally think it would be great for the state. It will give UAB a chance to get their feet back under them and playing against Auburn & Alabama at home would for sure give them at least two sellout games a season, especially if and when they build an on-campus stadium. I don't see either Bama or Auburn having anything to lose by agreeing to a home & home with the Blazers.

Thoughts pro & con?

except the game. I can understand the hesitancy to schedule that game.

We may not have anything to lose, but what do we have to gain?

No, but I want all the fricking Auburn fans that were whinning about Bama bullying UAB to get there arses to Legion Field on Saturdays instead of going to plains. You wanted them to have football so bad, well go support it.

That's like having to play with the retarded kid down the street because your mom said it would be the nice thing to do.

Auburn should play them twice each year, your team needs the win. Bama, not so much.

Ps.
This is a shitty thread.

Sure. If we're gonna keep scheduling these bullshite teams, might as well keep it in-state.

Well you've got to have some out of conference games every year. And doing this would allow, on the years the game is "away", a ton of AU or Bama fans to attend that normally would not go to an away game. And it helps the state because all the tax dollars the fans will spend stays right here at home.

Plus, UAB is never going to compete on a level that Auburn & Alabama are at. The odds of them being good enough to beat either team in the foreseeable future to beyond remote.

I don;t think it would cost them money. In fact, it would save them money. Both Auburn & Alabma already pay millions to teams every year to come and take a beating. This season we're paying teams Jack. State, Idaho & San Jose State come to the Plains. Bama is paying Middle Tennessee, ULM & someone called Charleston Southern ( ) to come take a beating. Instead of paying over a million dollars to those teams, agree to a yearly home & home with UAB. And they could probably get them to agree to it without having to pay a dime. UAB would agree to this due to the massive amount of revenue having Auburn or Alabama play at UAB would bring.

It would also be better for the fans. What sounds like a more interesting games to you?

Alabama vs. Middle Tennessee or Alabama vs UAB?

Auburn vs. Idaho or Auburn vs. UAB?

I'd take Idaho. Middle Tennessee is a toss up

True...But they had no problem competing on LSU's level 15 years ago.

Why would either team agree to play at Legion? Out if the goodness of their hearts?

If you think UAB would agree to play us for free when they can get a check from any other SEC school then you are fooling yourself. There is no legitimate reason to play the Blazers.

Patton is right. Technically UAB would make no money from a game with us.
