I hate to say it, but I think he's right. Alabama, when forced to choose, probably won't opt for TSIO. Also, who determines the cross division rivalries? Is that part of the vote as well?

The only real chance I see for maintaining TSIO if Auburn moves to the East is if Alabama opts to keep Tennessee as a rival, and the only way I see them opting for that is if it's a middle finger to Auburn for trying to dictate their traditions.

No, it wouldn't. Not even close.

This year will be the 100th meeting of the TSIO. Why don't you drop the Georgia game? Because that is the equivalent of what you are asking us to do.

Why should Alabama be forced to give something up to accommodate Auburn?

The posters on here, sure. What would the majority of your fan base say? What would your administration and big money say? In this hypothetical, you only get to keep one. I don't think I like which side of that Tennessee is on.

Wrong
OK. LSU is more of a rival than Tennessee is to Bama. It was just another game even when Fulmer was there. Bama fans would be alot more excited to say Auburn ran from them than they would cry if they found out they didn't play Tennessee every year.

You can't run away from someone, then call them chicken for not chasing you.

Lol just because one team goes on long streaks in the series means it's meaningless? I assure you when VOLS were skull dragging Bama through the end of the 90s and early 00s it wasn't just another game.

"Tradition".. When's the last time it decided jack shite?

When the AD's refused to allow Auburn to be part of the East. And will decide it again when they are refused in the future.

The TSIO hasn't been relevant in a long time.

Auburn has given bama 3 close games since 2008. Tennessee has given 2. The records of the two schools vs. Bama since then could very easily be flipped

That's fine, there is definitely a way to restructure to keep both games in tact. Divisions haven't been around that long, and the last time teams were added, it was structured in its current state. The fact remains, geographically speaking, Missouri in the East and AU in the West makes no fricking sense unless we're speaking solely on preserving the Iron Bowl in the current schedule format.

Of course. Bama would rather play Tennessee than Auburn every year and Tennessee doesn't want another team to beat them every year in the East.

They'd say TSIO all the way without a second thought. Alabama vs Tennessee runs deeper than any other rivals Bama has. It goes back a century now. Auburn vs. Bama is what? Less than 50yrs or something close to that. Listen up, AU is a huge rivalry, they are our little shite for brains brothers but the TSIO isn't going anywhere and that's a fact. As I've said in another thread before, as long as there's an SEC there will be a TSIO. If lil bro wants to run to the East, then I say GTFO.

Yeah, except the whole thing of AU playing for 2 NC and winning the SEC twice since then. UT is going on two decades since having won the SEC.

Literally nobody is afraid of you. We just assume you'll end up back on probation, like you do pretty much every time you get good for a few years.

Well you're mentally defunct, that's already been proven, so your opinion means very little as the comparison isn't even remotely similar in terms of program success during that period.

When's the last time AU was on probation? What about UT?

I am open to solutions that doesn't require Bama to drop its rivalry games.

Why didn't AU support Bama's proposal to go to 9 games?

And no one has been scared of a Tennessee team since about the last time Auburn was on probation. (Hint: it's been about 20 years)

TSIO features: 1,707 combined wins, 19 national championships, 46 combined conference championships, 118 combined bowl appearances and 670 combined NFL draft picks.

How many other yearly rivalries in CFB have that kind of tradition and history?
