Is this more of a friendly or heated rivalry?

Never hear yall talk about each other until game week. Is this just not a big rivalry?

Since both are in Georgia, it's a class thing.

Georgia used to care more about Auburn than Auburn cared about Georgia.

Now I think it's the other way around since they've owned us the last eight years.

It was once a friendly rivalry but many will point to the 2010 game as the one that turned it into hate. Some of us including me point to the 2007 game.

It used to be a civil rivalry without much bad blood and a lot of classic games. 2010 really changed that with auburn's shenanigans, that kinda ramped up the hatred. The last 2 years we've absolutely beat their arse so they've shut up some. But now they're good again so you see them pounding their chests again. To be honest, if 2010's game didn't go like it did and the internet didn't exist, I wouldn't really have much animosity at all towards auburn.

Grew up in Alabama and always loved the rivalry. Moved to Georgia and realized it's much more heated here. Have some friends who are AU fans and grew up in Georgia and they hate UGA more than Bama.

Regardless, you have to respect the history of the rivalry.

Agreed. But everyone hates them. The only school in the country that most people could never pull for.

If you're from Georgia and you attended Auburn, Georgia is your Alabama. Sheer volume dictates the Iron Bowl will be the "it" game, considering most AU fans/students are from AL.

Personally, I don't hate UGA. I do enjoy the rivalry though.

Trooper Taylor isn't there anymore, and Nick Fairley did that shite to everyone. He didn't discriminate.

At one time in the history of college football, being a dirty mean son of a bitch was encouraged and supported.. My how times have changed
