...for non-athletic scholarships from the Forbes list

SEC

1. UF $7.2M
2. UAT $6.5M
3. UG $4.0M

Don't know the rest save for UTk - A paltry $1.3M because they are so far in debt (poors)

Anyone have the rest?

LSU gives 7 mil to academics annually, unsure if it's specifically for scholarships or not.

Well that's not very helpful, BigEd.

these numbers are so hard to compare as each school accounts for money and property differently

I think we pay professor salaries or some such with it.

We have had massive cuts to state education in the budget the last 4-5 years. The athletic department kept it floating iirc.

These numbers, according to Forbes, are just cash returned to the University for non-athletic scholarships. I don't think it's property based or the result of calling budget line items different things.

I wonder what this is? (Note: I'm no accountant.)

In addition to UGA's figure for scholarships, the UGAAA also provides for a sizable portion of professor salaries and stipends.

Old article: LINK /

Alabama’s athletic department, for instance, contributed $3.5 million to the school’s non-athletic scholarship fund last year as part of a $6.5 million contribution package for university programming.

Big One. No state tax dollars or student fees to athletics. The rest of you poors need to step it up.

yep no state tax dollars funding our athletics. I had to tear apart a fat kid after class one day for being a ruhtard about LSU athletic spending.

Mississippi State Athletics has
given the school back at least $1,000,000 since 2009. They also contributed a lot during Sherrill's era. Not too much excesses during the Crxxms years.
