There is a lot of talk of Aggies getting a playoff spot. I don't see it. But who would have to win the conference championships in the other conferences for people to even think about it

Aggies will have to beat LSU first and if history tells us anything, that won't be easy

It wont happen. We would need Louisville to get a 2nd loss. Michigan to beat OSU. And Washington to lose one. We also need to win out (but that part is easy).
Honestly our best shot of getting in is if Auburn and LSU beat Bama and we win the SEC.

How many years of only conference champions selected do we have to have to eliminate these types of remarks?

Aggies wouldn't get in over Wisconsin if they win big ten even. I think big ten is completely out of the question. Big 12 is garbage. They better not put any of those teams in. So that leaves acc and PAC 12.
The committee would have to put Aggies ahead of a one loss Clemson or Washington.

Assuming Alabama and A&M win out, Aggies still would need some help.
I think A&M could sneak in if Clemson/Michigan/Washington were to lose a CCG to a 2-3 loss opponent. If that team were Clemson, I think it would dilute Louisville's resume a bit as well.
Could happen, probably won't

Aggies wouldn't get in over an 11-2 Wisconsin conference champion. No way. Their schedule is probably, toughest in country
But if like North Carolina or ucla pull an upset. Would be interesting

There's really not.
We'll see where they end up in the CFP rankings on Tuesday. They need a lot of help. Clemson is in, even as a 1-loss ACC champ. So they're not getting a spot there.
The Big Ten Champ is almost for sure getting in. That's two spots. SEC Champion is getting in (likely Alabama). That's three.
After that, they're still behind Louisville and the loser of the Michigan/Ohio State game. And that's assuming Washington loses a game. Because if they don't, the Huskies are your 4th team.
aTm needs to win out (less than 50% chance) and also get a good bit of help.

We would need only 3 conferences to send their champions. It isn't likely, but isn't crazy either.
SEC - Bama wins it, undefeated. A&M finishes 11-1.
Big 12 - Already out of the playoffs, but OU winning it clinches that 100%.
Pac 12 - Someone besides UW wins the Pac 12. WSU could beat them out of the division or they could lose the champ game.
ACC - Clemson would have to lose the championship game to VT or UNC
Big Ten - A lot of high end teams (NU, Wisco, tOSU, UM) and somehow a 2 loss team comes out of there.
Once there is only 3 (or possible 2) undefeated or 1 loss champions left I would think A&M would be near the top of the choices of 1 loss teams. There would be competition with UL & tOSU(if they beat UM) and potentially UW or UM depending on how the finish plays out.

A 2 loss tOSU team would not get it over A&M or any 1 loss SEC, ACC, or Pac team.

You are correct, but I'm working under the assumption that Michigan loses that game, and Ohio State goes on to win the Big Ten.
Everyone will be cheering for Nebraska to knock off Ohio State next week, I'm sure.
