I agree. I would have taken him in the 1st, especially before I took Nkemdiche.

Are we talking last year or the upcoming season? Arkansas, OM and State were all top 15 in passing S&P+.

12,15,30 in yardage. Ole Miss was the only real threat with their passing game against decent teams. Remember, all three padded their stats against A&M and AU.

S&P+ adjusts for strength of opposition amongst other things.

How are those adjustments determined? Never seen that stat, where do you find it?

Football Outsiders

quote:

Opponent adjustments: Each team's output for a given category (Success Rate, IsoPPP, and split stats like rushing, passing, redzone, standard downs, passing downs, etc.) is compared to the expected output based upon their opponents. This is a schedule-based adjustment designed to reward tougher schedules and punish weaker ones. In the tables below, the "+" designation is for measures that are adjusted for opponent.

Then why do you pick Chris Jones over him? Chris Jones has shown flashes of being good, but from what I remember he was a little inconsistent. Ashawn was one of the most consistent players that's played for Saban. I believe it's just the fact that he was consistently getting sacks, which is only half of the story. He was great at batting down passes at the line of scrimmage and generally affecting the quarterback. You really don't need him to be a sack artist if you plug him into the right team.

shite, no wonder I haven't heard of it. Their formula is as arbitrary and convoluted as the computer rankings in the old BCS. It just proves that gamblers will try any formula and pay for any service that they think gives them an advantage. Garbage time adjustment, ISOPPP ?

I do not think you will see ESPN replacing any of their stats with stuff from this site/

NFL is a passing league.. DL who aren't specialized pass rushers don't get drafted all that high. They were overvalued when the 3-4 caught fire in the NFL.. Tyson Jackson was drafted #3 overall and would have been a late 1st round pick otherwise.

Because Jones can play inside and out. He's simply more versatile.
