As an LSU fan, I hope Saban coaches at Bama another decade

Tiger Stadium is at its best when we are the underdog. The Bama games are the only time the stadium still compares to classics like AU 95, UF 97, UT 00, UGA 03, and UF 07 in terms of atmosphere and noise level.

There are exceptions, like when Ole Miss came in ranked #3 and 7-0 in 2014. That was a pretty dialed-up night game.

But in general our fans have become so spoiled that they don't get up for a #21-ranked Florida or a 5-4 unranked Arkansas team. Don't get me started on how angry that mindset makes me, but that's the reality of the situation.

Saban is good for our conference, he's good for the LSU fan base, and he's good for Tiger Stadium.

I've never been more embarrassed to be an LSU fan than when the fans stormed the field after beating Ole fricking Miss.

And that includes 1/9.

Don't blame the fans for the team not performing.

"Best as an underdog" seems like a massive contradiction

I kind of hope he sticks around long enough for Bama fans to turn against him, but I think he is too smart for that. He'll take off at the first signs of trouble.

It does, but any lifelong LSU fan will tell you this is true. The stadium against a team we are favored by >7 points is half-empty by the 3rd quarter.

Those games I referenced in the OP - UF 97, for example - were so loud they damaged my hearing for a few days.

He's bad for LSU's record against Bama

16 straight wins has a nice ring to it.

This is such bullshite. 2011 LSU was favored in every game in Tiger Stadium and the place was rocking. You want to know when Tiger Stadium is at its best? When LSU has a national contender.

You want Saban to stick around for another decade? frick you

I bet he doesnt even coach at Bama for 4 years. He just likes to skip around from program to program. As soon as Texas comes calling - he gone. They got that oil money.

Don't get me wrong, it was pretty decent that year because of the bandwagoners..but none of the 2011 games can hold a candle to 97 UF or 03 UGA, for example.

Yeah Saban is bad for the conference. It is like everyone else is playing for second best and everyone knows it. It is demoralizing for fan bases.

You want a guy who completely owns you to keep coaching?

I'll take a shitty experience at the stadium if my team is winning over a fun atmosphere and a loss any freaking day.

This. I talked as many people in the student section out of it as I could.

As an LSU fan, you're retarded if you want to play against Saban as long as possible.
