Seems like our defense will be closer to our end of the year defense. Our offense is going to be better, i'm not sold on our passing game yet outside of the TEs. I do think we'll do more short passing which should help but our WRs aren't really fast at all.

I'm watching the replay. Brandon Allen is throwing the ball better and seeing the field better than ever. I'm thinking having a real QB coach is making a big difference. I'm impressed.

Kody Walker ran for 174 yards and looked pretty good doing it (on highlights).

He looked really good. And I'm thinking our offensive line is going to make everyone look better.

I'm starting to think Allen "seeing the field" in the past wasn't the problem. It sounds like it might have been Chaney's philosophy. Hunter Henry had a quote after the game that made it sound like Chaney tried to put a square peg into a round hole sometimes when it came to his calls. While Enos, on the other hand, has a more modern passing attack by building in man and zone beaters on each side of the play. That's how I read this quote at least.
“In this playbook there’s a lot more options, a lot more reads and different things from both sides of the field,” Henry said. “Sometimes I think we locked in one side of the field in a read. And this is if they’re playing ‘this’ defense you can look to ‘this’ side of the field or if they’re playing ‘this’ defense you can look to ‘this’ side of the field. Walker looked really good. I am no expert but Allen seemed to really excel at spotting his tight ends. He did make one or two throws I thought were pretty bad decisions, but he seemed much more comfortable in the offense today. And that line on offense ... wow.

I thought he looked much improved from a year ago. He went something like 11-21 for 108 yards vs the 2's last spring. This year he went 17-21 for 230. Obviously it's not a real game but he seemed much more confident than he was a year ago.
I think the TE's are going to be huge for us this year. It wouldn't surprise me to see our top 3 receivers being Keon Hatcher, Hunter Henry and Jeremy Sprinkle in some order.
The local media has been hyping the massive improvement of Jeremy Sprinkle all offseason and I will admit that I was extemely skeptical. I was chalking it up to homerism because he has been rough around the edges since he got here. He is still by no means perfect but he looks like we will be able to step in for AJ Derby pretty seamlessly. That will be big for our offense if that is the case.

Body wise...Sprinkle looked the part too. He has put on good weight and doesn't look like a skinny WR trying to play TE anymore.

Yeah this is very true. His first year under Bielema, he looked so awkward out there playing TE. I'm definitely willing to admit that I was wrong about him. I thought a freshman would come in and grab Derby's spot. It doesn't look that way at all now.
