I'll admit I'm not as in tune with your returners, what you lost, positions you are confident/not confident in, or just general expectations.

But honestly, I'm genuinely curious. I have no idea what to expect of y'all as a whole and would appreciate some insight. Let's keep the trolling to a minimum and the flaming at 0, please.

I understand you expect to beat LSU. Before anyone posts, duly noted.

Almost everyone in the two deep on defense return. Should be greatly improved. Always have been strong in the run D but pass D really struggled. An improved pass rush and new DB coach (Paul Rhodes) should help improve that.

The offense is still a question mark. Austin appears to have almost identical numbers in spring/fall scrimmages as his older brother from last year. Lost Collins at RB but return the 2nd and 3rd RB, also add Whaley which looks solid so far. WRs are very experienced and should help a inexperienced QB early. Sprinkle should easily be a top 3 TE in the SEC. Oline is where my biggest worry is atm. Dan Skipper is solid but not very confident in too many of the others.

That pretty well sums it up.

Basically we expect to take a step back on offense but a step up on defense. Our success this season will be measured by how big those steps are.

Anywhere between 6 and 15 wins

Only thing for sure is we make a bowl game.

Assuming no major injuries or coaching changes

Yes, and that is why I think Enos is going to be one of the most important factors. If he is able to put the offense/Allen in good spots with his play calling (like last year) we should be a very good team. Would be surprised if the defense doesn't return to 2014 form.

Return
9 Starters on D
Entire WR corp, plus get Keon Hatcher back
2 Starters on OL...a 3rd started 30 games at Texas

DL will be a beast...You remember last year plus add a couple pass rushers. Starting WILL is no longer a freshman

Should have 3-4 backs carrying ball with Whaley and Williams getting lions share...Kody Walker should score double-digit RZ TD's

Allen in the 2800-3200 range with 28-30 TD's (barring injury)

DB's will play different coverages this year under Paul Rhodes to help mitigate big plays

Top Units (most proven)
DL
WR
OL
LB
TE
RB
QB
DB (here until proven other wise)

Could go 6-6, could go 10-2 (due to home schedule)...Need to beat TCU for sure and get over shooting ourselves in the foot against aTm...5-0 is possible going into Bama which would be huge.

I appreciate you as a solid poster, so you will get a solid answer from me...

Offense: Return arguably the deepest WR group I've seen in my lifetime as an Arkansas follower. Very talented group. All are back from a season ago. Jeremy Sprinkle is back at TE. He led the league in TDs for TEs a season ago. He will be a nice replacement for Hunter Henry. Those groups combined, make this an easier transition for Austin Allen, IMO. Reports suggest the passing offense hasn't missed a beat, just a different first name at QB. I'll hold off on that koolaid until I see for myself in a week or so.

Running back should be solid again. Rawleigh Williams, Kody Walker, and Devwah Whaley should provide a pretty lethal ground attack. Bert says Whaley is the best RB he has ever recruited and everyone has raged about him through camp. Walker is a proven 6th year senior who really shines at the end of last season. Williams is coming off a terrible injury just when he had started to find a groove last season. He is super talented and will probably have a great season.

The OL is still going to be solid IMO. Skipper, Ragnow, and Wallace all have significant game snaps under their belts. Wallace isn't with the ones, so competition has been stiff up front. Skipper, Ragnow, Jackson, Raulerson, and Froholdt look to be the starting 5. Raulerson is a grad transfer from Texas who has moved to a guard spot here. As far as the Oline goes, that's usually the strongest part of a Bert team.

On defense Arkansas returns everyone on the two deep from last years front seven, minus one guy. So, 13/14 are back from a unit that held SEC opponents to less than 1,000 rushing yards a season ago. The only other team to do that also, was Alabama. Passing defense was horrible a season ago. Everyone is back, minus one safety. Insert former Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoades, and we should see improvement. Players say they played too heavy last season so some weight has been shredded. Hopefully this transitions to them being better out of breaks on coverage. One thing that should help them will be more of a pass rush by Wise and company up front. Overall, the defense should be much better with everyone returning. Top 10 good like 2014? I dunno, maybe. There is more experience and more depth on this defense than there was in 2014.

Overall I picked us to go 9-3. SEC Network guys picked the same thing. I think Arkansas can make a big statement early against TCU. I wouldn't be surprised to see Arkansas 5-0 headed into the Alabama game, but wouldn't be shocked if they were 4-1 or 3-2.

Pretty much this.
Everything is going to depend on how well the offensive line plays...particularly early. By the end of the season, they'll be just as good as they were last season because they have good depth and talent across the line, but they're replacing three starters, and a Mackey Award winner there. Sounds pretty grim for prognostication for ANY team, honestly, but offensive line play is Bielema's forte and he has done well recruiting the position.

Something that should help the running game out tremendously is the emergence of a freshman fullback named Hayden Johnson. Bielema hasn't had a fullback he has been satisfied with since Kiero Small left two years ago. Last season they were rotating tight ends into the fullback position, but Johnson, by all indications, seems to be a headhunter type who the staff, and team, are really excited about. So that helps. Having Devwah Whaley come in also helps the run game. He is going to be a special talent.

So after the offensive line, the next question mark is obviously the QB play. Nobody can really tell how well Austin will play, but I think he will prove to be every bit as good as his older brother. He is slightly bigger, and slightly stronger, and is putting up very good numbers so far in camp.

Most of all, I think Bielema made a smash hit hire in hiring Dan Enos. I think the offense is going to be very good again this season and people are going to be trying to hire him away from Arkansas in very short order. He is a very, very good play caller. Almost as good as Petrino was, IMO.

Defensively I look for this team to look closer to the unit the Razorbacks fielded two seasons ago that finished in the top ten in total d than the one they fielded last year. Pass defense was awful last season, but they were basically the same players that finished top ten the year previous, posting back-to-back shut outs of ranked conference opponents. The difference is clearly the lack of a pass rush last season. Thankfully for the Hog fans, Arkansas's defensive line looks to be top shelf this season.

I am extremely excited for this season, and I would not be surprised at all to see the Hogs win double digit games this year. They will have a shot to win every single one of them.
