5 star, #2 SDE
4 star, #24 DT
4 star, #31 DT
3 star, #30 DE
Pretty solid. That has to be top half of the SEC for this DL class. We also signed the #29, #33, and #46 LB.
Bert's building the team the right way.

Bert knows what he is doing in terms of putting together a roster. And you know his OL will be great because he has an elite eye for OL talent at a position that is incredibly hard to identify and project.

I'm eager to see how the new OL coach does. He brings a lot of energy; I hope it translates to a strong OL on the field. At this point I don't have any reason to think it won't.

He obviously HAD to sign a good defensive class this year, and while the DL and LB group looks more than solid, the back half of the defense is still looking for help. I think they have talent back there, I just hope that they develop quite a bit this off season.
Linebacker was the biggest concern from where I sit, and the class they signed this year is tremendous. Overall I am very happy with the class.

Not really. Arkansas's highest two rated players off the list in OP are both from Arkansas.
We picked up a couple LBs from your state though, so I guess we could say thanks. But don't make it sound like LSU is too good for those players...get back to us on that when LSU remembers how to beat the Hogs on the field.

No, Not too good for them. But LSU got much better DTs than those in this class sooo

I think that when it comes to recruiting "better" is a bit subjective.
For instance, LSU has the best recruiting class in the history of the universe, or some such, and yet their team sucks. Funny how that works. Some coaches shoot for the stars, other look for players that fit their system and their needs.
Most often the team with the most stars in recruiting is also coached by a top tier coach, and that translates to wins, but there ARE exceptions, and I believe LSU is one of them. Michigan State is another. They're like polar opposites. Dantonio is a good coach, Les Miles is not.

I love what we did with the DL/LB position.
My concern was with all the misses we had on impact players in the secondary. (Not talking Putu here either)
Fulton would have instantly made our secondary better, so would the safety from Texas. I'm sure there are more but I'm going to choose to be lazy and not go back and remember the names that my mind blocked out after they committed/signed elsewhere.
