Can you tell he missed the plate?

Can you tell the ump is calling him safe before he ever gets to the plate?

McCann tags & pushes him out of base line....then tags again as he tries to get back to the plate.

The entire time the ump is calling him safe.

Guy could have ran into the dugout after he rounded third and been called safe.

How in the world could you not tell.. McCann was laying on the plate and he was still called safe.

An ump can make a "safe" motion to indicate to the players on the field that a tag hasn't been made yet. It's up to the players to continue the play if they see the runner miss home.

So basically the fact that the ump was making a "safe" motion means nothing in the grand scheme of things.
