Are there any OM fans that admit the severity of the situation?

All I've seen are "this is no big deal" posts.
Any of you RebBears being realistic?

There are many that will not voice that they are fearful, that know this will be bad. They hope for the best, expect the worst and know that they've been lied to by their own athletic department.

The ones that are are staying away from this board. They know how to maintain.

It's whatevers. We have had months to let it sink in. It's like having a 93 year old grandma. It's not as painful when she dies because we've had so much time to get used to the thought of it. Besides up to this point we don't even have a post season ban yet. So granny is still hanging on by a thread :^)

Hoping to draw them out. Get a rational response.
I'm cracking up creeping their board.
It's went from..."This is going to be funny when nothing happens" to "This is going to be funny when our self imposed sanctions are upheld"
I can see it evolving to "This is going to be funny when we continue to win despite our postseason ban" to "This is going to be funny when we hire a better coach than the one we just fired"
Hint: it's ALREADY funny and has been for a long time

It's going to be harsh. I've never said anything different; Ole Miss will wallow for years.
The reality is: In terms of football, schools like Ole Miss, MSU, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, (and yes, Mizzou -- and maybe even A&M and Arkansas), exist to prop up the perennial powers.
That is their function. So that schools like Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Auburn, etc. -- who have the widespread funding and fan support -- can go on to achieve national prominence.
Mississippi has some of the wonkiest, most backward state legislature aspects regarding head coaches' payment and contracts. Mainly, because the state is so damn poor. And money breeds success.
It is unlikely that any of these schools listed will win the SEC in our lifetimes. And they may not ever win a national championship as long as college football exists.
Now, if some of these schools were in another conference, they might have a greater chance of success. TCU, Baylor, Boise St. -- and a number of others have achieved greater success by playing in weaker conferences, and backdooring into high games of exposure.
But that would mean less money through shared conference dividends. And the SEC schools want the money than they want success on the football field.
Now, that is the severity of the situation far beyond any NCAA infractions. That's a system in place to reward those who have the most statistically aligned opportunity to win.
No school in the SEC that doesn't have the funding of a perennial power wins consistently. And to that end, to make a run at national prominence. That's just the way of the world, and it's better to realize it and be at peace with it, than to ascribe to some sunshine enema nonsense.
The only shot these teams have is if those perennial powers slip up or are on probation, which allow one of the mid-tier/lower tier teams to somehow slide in. And sure, you might win a game or two from them, but you won't win consistently and you won't overtake their position.
How's that for reality?

Most rational and self aware post I've ever seen from an Ole Miss fan.

Nice post.
In reality, what did Ole Miss have to lose? They were at rock bottom in 2011 and had never been to Atlanta. Why wouldn't they cheat? If they get caught, so what? Its back to the cellar. If they skate, then they could bring home some hardware. Risk/Reward.

Are there any non-OM fans that will admit that after 4 years investigating, there is no evidence that we paid all these bags of money to get players?
Admit that and we can then discuss the severity of 10-15 scholly losses.
Waiting...

We know you did it, you know you did it. Do we have a photo of Hugh Freeze handing Tunsil a bag of cash? No.
But it doesn't matter, we don't need to have a photo, and neither does the NCAA.

There's a lot of evidence you paid Tunsil actually

It's worse. It's the lowest of the low. Y'all fixed fricking grades.
So basically a kid that puts in hard work and passes fricking hs. Gets a big frick you. We are going to cheat and give the scholarship to someone less deserving.
I don't give a frick about paying players, I'm not naive enough to think cash hand shakes don't happen all over.
But not every school is fixing people's ACT scores.

Either, you are simply disengenuinous;
Or you are stupid;
Or you are honest with yourself and feel as though we made one of the smartest, financially savvy purchases in the history of football.
Greatest offensive tackle in the country for a cab ride fee, $800 to his dumbass step-father and a loaner vehicle for a couple of months -- ALL which took place after he had already signed with us and had started suiting up and shutting down the various All-SEC D-linemen over and over, play after play .... Hmmm....
The truly scary part is that you have to now wrap your mind around the fact that
1) All these star recruits picked us without any bags of money; or
2) #thenetwork is so good at hiding the money, it couldn't be found with a 4 year colonoscopy.
Either way, we are here to stay!!

Or you are choosing to ignore the new stuff on Tunsil has now been added, but sure

Now, let's clarify this for a second: A member of the staff -- not even an assistant coach -- who was here for less than a year, under a different staff, engaged in academic impropriety (not rising to the level of academic fraud).
When it was discovered by Nutt, he was immediately fired.
Meanwhile, UNC had an institutional program involving multiple levels of teachers, administrators, coaches, and staff. A program that falsified academic progress of hundreds of athletes, over thousands of classes, over a period of decades. A program where entire classes, grades, and course work was systematically invented out of whole cloth. With full knowledge and support of the institution.
And you call this paragraph "the lowest of the low?"

Agree with you on this. In solidarity against grade-fixing, I am glad we got rid of them as soon as we found out. See we do have something in common.
