I didn't get to watch their game, but saw a lot of posts and threads about how well he did against Jax State. I then saw the stat line this morning and was a little confused. Did the stat line not tell the full story or are fans being sarcastic?

Might have been the TD to the TE.

Stat line really doesn't tell the whole story. He hit a lot of guys in the hands and they just didn't reel them in like they should. He only had two or three bad throws. Also had a couple very good and very smart runs.

Eta: I don't think he'll even be a top 5 SEC QB, but in his first live action in two years, even with poor O Line play he showed poise in the pocket and didn't sail every other throw way over the receiver's head. We're not used to that.

the stat line is off a bit because Dupre is a shite head that cant catch. also our stupid oline had some better plays wiped away because of their shite play.

Im not all aboard the Danny pain train but he did show something we haven't seen in a while because he checked down and was moving the ball well until the 2nd half.

I think they are happy to have a passing TD and the fact that the team rallied around him and showed some positive emotion which has been lacking with emo BH as the QB.

He did exceptional in the second quarter, but not much after halftime. The telling part was how comfortable he looked, he checked down to second and third options, made some nice throws, and acted like a leader. That's why everyone is excited.

They are as serious as they were about Harris.

You realize "how well he did" is a relative concept, right? Relatively speaking, he was Dan Marino last night.

Brandon Harris-one first down in his first 15 minutes. Etling three touchdowns in his. But yeah, he does suck, can't throw or run, and LSU is doomed to lose to (insert your team here) by 40.

his play in the second half wasn't as bad as it seems. Dupre dropping passes, bitching out on the int, our line taking away his best play. Also les retook over play calling.

Most are just happy to see a different QB back there, although Etling isn't the long term answer IMO.

Not sarcastic. He was more than competent the 2nd qtr, then les started calling plays it appears, the 2nd half. Play action 50/50 deep balls to a soft receiver.

Etling is promising but I have zero faith they won't screw him up.

from the posts here it's obvious people dont realize how bad Harris is. anyone that can complete a foward pass is an upgrade. I was hoping Etling would be the starter game 1.

Didn't Harris come in off the bench and have a decent game early at lsu against a weak opponent too?
